Great. A QB from a team that played Towson State. Still, to be fair, there were only six sure things in the entire draft and they were all gone by Number-8.
Also, the stockpiling of draft picks (three threes and three fours as I write this) can only be a good thing, assuming Ozzie manages to avoid another Dwan Edwards, Devard Darling, and/or Dan Cody.
It is Towson University and has been since 1997. Get it right. Our program is on the rise now that we have our full allotment of scholarships and we're playing BCS opponents starting this year in Navy.

We play in the strongest FCS conference, the CAA. The NFL has recognized this: Jermon Bushrod from Towson drafted last year (New Orleans), and now Joe Flacco at #18 (among many other proven impact players --Brian Westbrook -Villanova). The NFL sees the strength of our conference and anyone can see how the college landscape has more parity than ever before.

Give us and Flacco some respect. When he turns out to be a Boller or Troy Smith- then you can just say that our talent is just a bad as the PAC 10 and Big 10.

But if he's something more....

Drafted Flacco too high, why Ray Rice? I really hope they clean up in the remaining rounds, because right now I am not happy with this draft thus far.

We'll sure be glad we picked Flacco when our secondary is getting picked apart by Palmer, Big Ben and Derek Anderson next year... We needed a cornerback badly.. we have two corners over 30 and one of them can drop and have a seizure at any minute. Maybe Phil Savage really was the brains int he draft room.
They have worse defenses than we do. Flacco will be just as good as any of those 3 QB's. Wait and see. He's big and strong like Roethlisberger and from what I hear he has a hell of an arm and very sharp. So before everyone starts whining lets give Flacco a chance to get our offence together and do great things. If he does what he's supposed to do as a QB then we can light THEIR defenses up just as much.

Why Ray Rice? Are you kidding me? Anyone who thought that was a bad pick are idiots. We needed a backup for McGhahee, and this guy fits the bill. He'll be a great compliment to him and he'll be a great RB for us once he learns the schemes. And for all you naysayers out there whining about the OL, we have some great new kids that will perform much better this year than last because of Cam and Haubaugh. The training will be much tougher and they will be prepared from day one of the NFL season. I think this OL is going to surprise a lot of people this year.

For all those who doubt Flacco's ability because he didn't play at a 1A school, note that his best game last year was against a 1A bowl team - your own Naval Academy, that beat Notre Dame,...

So , will the Ravens start this rookie QB ? That wouldnt be fair to Troy Smith. I think Troy is great. Maybe Flacco is great also but dont you think he would need more time than starting right away?

Drafting Joe Flacco was the stupidest move ever. It remind me of drafting Kyle Boller. Boller did nothing at college level but somehow pulled it off at the combines and fooled the ravens. Joe Flacco looke same to me. Ravens are good in drafting in defensive side of football. But they are useless when it comes to drafting QBs and RBs. They should never have drafted a QB in this draft. They should have given a chance to Troy Smith and if he faltered they should have drafted a QB next year or two. ALl I can say is history is going to repeat.
You must feel pretty damn stupid by now. Am I right?

Actually, he looks pretty smart right now and you look stupid. 30-10, so sad.

Look at the bright side, you still have the Bengals to play still. After all, those weak teams are what makes the mighty Ravens look better than what they really are.

Losers.
