So far so good. Ray Rice is a surprise though. He sounds pretty good.

I agree, Smith must not be that well viewed by the organization. Granted, they had to get a third QB into camp at the very least. The question is, next year, they going through with Flacco and Smith? Boller is done after this year.

Unless they manage to somehow pull in a veteran Jeff Garcia-type QB, write this off as a rebuilding year. Between the tough schedules the division has overall and at least 50% starts with Boller, I'd say 7-9 or 6-10 is about right.

A STUPID pick on Flacco at 18! Decosta and Ozzie went against their so called "philosophy" of not drafting by need because it can cause a team to "OVERVALUE" a player when a team does that, and instead go with "the best player available regardless of need" because that is how a team has successful dfrafts and wins. They also went against their so called "philosophy" of drafting players that come from bigtime winning D1A teams because those players have played in high pressure situations in front of 70,000 and natinal TV and will not be easily shaken. Sooooooooooo, what does the "braintrust" of Ozzie and Decosta do?.....go against EVERYTHING they preach and pick a player from a D1AA school that has never played BIGTIME football in front of a spectacle like MNF! Ozzie and Decosta - Flacco BETTER be the next Brady or Manning because if Flacco is a bust - it will be your hides in the unemployment line!
STUPID PICK!

Billick's comment about being run out of town was a cheap shot, Sure, he invested too heavily in Boller, but his play calling was pedestrian and his teams lacked discipline.

looks like the Ravens are throwing in the towel for this season and beginning a rebuild. taking a risky qb propect with their 1st pick says the Ravens aren't in a "win now" mode of thought. not sure how the veterans on this team will feel about this, but the ravens did nothing to help this team win next season.

Horrible Pick. This momo couldn't start for the Univ of Pitt Panthers, yet he's supposed to start in the NFL?

Worst #1 pick in Ravens history

Brian Billick was not railroaded out of town because of Kyle Boller. Billick was fired because of his inept offensive play calling and how his lost the respect of his players. He still doesn't get it.

I have a question. If Flacco doesn't win the starting job, can he transfer to the Miami Dolphins?

How can he be called a "leader" when he basically quit Pitt becuse he couldn't win the starting QB job ?

Sounds to me like the type to take his ball and go home if you don't let him win

He left Pitt to get playing time so that he could play to his potential and become a first round pick. Where would he have been if he had stayed at Pitt???.....He was just the second QB picked in the first round, I'd say leaving Pitt wasn't a bad decision at all. Oh and I love all of the people on here that say this was a horrible pick...can you see into the future....why dont you play the lottery with you future telling abilities. They needed a QB, Matt Ryan went to high so they went and got the guy they had rated next on their board. All we can do is hope it works out. Also it didnt look like to many teams were that high on Chad Henne and Brian Brohm based on where they went and where they were projected to go....

WTF!!!!! Does anyone realize that we couldn't cover anyone last year in the passing game??? Can we please get a ******* corner!!!! This Justin King just went to St. Louis. Unless Ozzie plans on trading for Lito or something this draft is a waste if we don't address CB. Rolle is done and these other guys couldn't cover JV last year. Flacco good pick but we need CB help.

So let me get this straight,we are going to be stuck with either Boller an up and down QB or Smith an unproven QB,what does this mean, that Baltimore has to put up with another rebuilding team, the Os and now the Ravens.

Ozzie just traded the 4th rounder for Fabian Washington CB with Raiders. Another good draft pick used to bolster roster.

If the offensive line doesn't improve at pass protection, Flacco will struggle as much, if not more, than Boller has. Remember, Boller has five games of 100+ QB rating in his last 16 games, more than McNair had in 2006, and any QB will have trouble coming close to that if he isn't consistently protected. Boller is not nearly as bad as most fans and media think, while our pass defense is worse than people think.
