Already the mainstream sports press is lionizing McNair for his athleticism, charitable work and low key persona. I guess they must put him on a pedestal, lest someone question their journalistic abilities and ask why they didn't present a more accurate picture of him. Sports journalists are really nothing more than propogandists for collegiate and professional sports associations and leagues.

McNair was a good-hearted man who made terrible personal choices that harmed Kazemi, his friends and family. He certainly didn't deserve to die, but we the public deserve more from the sports media then the neverending line of puff pieces about him that are sure to follow.

If Mr. McNair had been at home with his WIFE and CHILDREN this would not have happened. Who will be the first national pundit to tell us that little fact?
He was playing some comedy with another woman. He's just another celebrity lout who believes that the common rules of society don't apply to him.
I can't say I am glad he got his, but when you lie down with dogs, you might get some fleas.

Police said a witness saw McNair arrive at the condo in the upscale Rutledge Hill neighborhood between 1:30 and 2 a.m. Saturday and that Kazemi’s vehicle was already there. The condominium is located within walking distance of an area filled with restaurants and nightspots, a few blocks from the Cumberland River and within view of the Titans’ stadium.

An arrest affidavit from Thursday said Kazemi had bloodshot eyes and alcohol on her breath when she was pulled over, but refused a breathalyzer test, saying “she was not drunk, she was HIGH .”

McNair and his family frequented the restaurant where Kazemi was a waitress, according employees and patrons of Dave & Buster’s in Nashville. Keith Norfleet, Kazemi’s ex-boyfriend, told The Tennessean newspaper that McNair and Kazemi met at the restaurant.

“She was reliable 90 percent of the time,” manager Chris Truelove said of Kazemi.“She was pretty outgoing. A lot of the guests liked being around her, and she liked being around the guests.”

The ex-boyfriend is saying Steve McNair was leading the 20 year old Iranian waitress on, so? that's why She went crazy and snuffed his lights and blew his brains out!

Former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair was killed in an apparent murder-suicide with a young woman who worked at an Opry Mills restaurant and had been dating him for months.

McNair, a hometown hero who did extensive charity work in Nashville, had several gunshot wounds, including one to the head. He was found on the sofa of a Second Avenue condominium that he rented, police said. Sahel Kazemi, 20, was found on the floor near him with a single gunshot wound to her head. A pistol was found near her body.

Metro police spokesman Don Aaron said investigators were not actively looking for suspects Saturday night but had not ruled out any scenarios. He stopped short of calling the deaths a murder-suicide, but said the police should be able to classify the deaths today after autopsies and forensic work.

“We expect to make additional conclusions after the autopsy process,” Aaron said

Though much of the attention was on the Second Avenue crime scene, police also swarmed Kazemi’s apartment at the Cherry Creek complex in Hermitage on Saturday.

They questioned neighbors who said they often saw McNair visiting Kazemi. Sometimes, neighbors said, she would arrive home in a limousine in the early morning. They also heard arguments between her and her boyfriend.

Most recently, she had a new black car she said was a gift from her boyfriend.
She was arrested in that car, a black 2007 Cadillac Escalade registered to her and McNair, early Thursday at Broadway and Ninth Avenue, just two days before the deaths. She was charged with driving under the influence and refusing to take a breath test. She told police she was not drunk, but "high".

McNair was in the car, a fact that was not in the police affidavit but was confirmed by police Saturday night. Police allowed McNair to take a cab home. He later bailed Kazemi out of jail, according to bail bondsmen.

Ex-boyfriend worried
Keith Norfleet, who said he dated Kazemi for four years before they broke up five months ago, was worried about her dating McNair, a married man. She met McNair while she was a waitress at Dave & Buster’s Grand Sports Cafe, he said.

Yup, a great NFL player, but:

I bet this will either include drugs, prostitution, infidelity, illegal gambling, or a combination of some or all these problems. I bet it turns out he was no saint. But, I could be wrong....

For the life of me I'll never understand why single women shack up with married men. Why do women think they have some special power over philanderers to the point where they think they can change a grown scumbag sorry for an excuse man of his ways. I'm willing to bet McNair had some other chick on the side and when the mistress found out about her she went apeshit. How stupid can these young ladies be?!?!?! If he is willing to screw around on the mother of his children he will certainly screw around on you! Women are so naive.

Yea. he's the only one in society who's ever cheated, on top of that you don't know what his situation was at home with his wife, so quick to point the finger without knowing all the facts. I'm sure you've never done anything wrong.

People want to blame men for sleeping with women when they are married.

What about these women who sleep with men, knowing full well that they are married? And don't feed me that horsecrap that she was only 20-Women claim to be the more mature sex all the time.

She knew he was married, schemed to take him from his wife, then went ballistic when he probably told her he had another girlfriend.

He should have been home with his wife...

Felt really bad when the news came out... But I have to admit, once further details came out about them dating and that he was married with 4 kids, I feel terrible for his family, disgust for the 20 yr old, and much less sympathy for him. I agree with a previous post -he should have been at home with his own family. It's pretty obvious that screwing the 20 yr old was not worth it. Should be a lesson to all married men (and women) out there who are thinking about cheating. Is it really worth giving everything up ( including your life)?

Another thug with too much money who seriously believed his press agent....what a waste of a life. For heaven's sake, he threw a ball around for a living, made a lot of money, gave some of it away (with lots of publicity) and cheated on his family. What a role model we have here. Sorry to all you 22 year old football fams. Grow up.

whatever!!!!!!either way you cut it, he was cheating, and that piece of trash knew he would never leave his wife. Like a couple of other people stated, if he had been home with his wife and children, he would be alive right now. I think of a story a preacher told one day at my church a few years back. A squirrel was running across some railroad tracks and barely made it. One of the wheels cut off a piece of his tail, and when he looked back to see, the other wheel cut off his head. So, the moral of the story was, "don't lose your head over a piece of tail". You hear that men?? A 20-year old money-grubbing, selfish, slut cost him his life, and he left a horrible legacy for his 4 sons. Not to mention the shame, humilation, & embarrassment of this "so-called" good guy for the rest of his family. All of the good things he may have done in his life will be overshadowed by the choices he made at the end of it! If you are currently cheating on your spouse or thinking about it, ask yourself, is it worth it???? You could end up the same way Steve McNair did.

The facts are:
He was 36, his mistress was 20.
He was married and a father of young children.
His mistress blew his brains out and then used the gun on herself.
Are those enough facts?
It is what it is..he died in the pusuit of young poon-tang.
Now his wife and children are left with the facts.
