Past production loses out to future potential - Sports

Full story: Honolulu Star-Bulletin

When Davone Bess, Solomon Elimimian, Jake Ingram and Adam Leonard were University of Hawaii football freshmen in 2005, who thought Ingram would be the one among them to get drafted by an NFL team? If you did, I want to hear what you have to say about the stock market.

I hope Ingram called June Jones to thank him too. If it wasn't for June's insightful vision once upon a time....he would've been lost in the DE heap.

JJ did a LOT to get NFL teams to look at UH players. Hope Eli and Leonard gets a chance. They did wonderful things for the UH program.

I agree with "hoohiki" and "thank jj" in that they acknowledge some of June Jones strengths. His acumen, his eye for talent & some of his football connections were significant. People like to slam Jones, but they conveniently forget what he did for the program & only like to remember the bitterness about his leaving. He led us to 10 great years, an unbeaten season & a trip to the Sugar Bowl that was bittersweet. His leaving was a blessing in disguise because he took us as far as he could. Coach Mack is capable of taking us back to the promised land in that he's much more disciplined & I really feel he's got the right coaches in place with the exception of George Lumpkin. If we are privileged enough to get back to a BCS Bowl, people won't have to be worried about another debacle--the team will be much more disciplined & focused than the one that went to the Sugar Bowl. I'm sure of it. I know we'll do at least well enough to get to the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl. I wish we could get a re-match with Notre Dame--this year, we'd kick their okoles!!

WTF is Wynn Silberman? If he can't get Solomon a free agent deal with a team he is a hack. That kid could be a great NFL player in the right opportunity, get on the phones guy..

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Libra

Be very careful when handling financial matters today because not everything is as straightforward as it seems. For instance, someone may tell you about a fail-safe way of making money but neglect to mention all the reasons why it's totally illegal. There could also be mistakes if you're spending money, such as being short-changed or overcharged. So watch out!
