Warriors, good luck in todays game with the Irish.
Keys to your win is playing smart, forget the mentality of "not in my house".
This will be your down fall if you don't play smart and stay in focus.

After losing the entire offensive skill players from last year and integrating new players, this bowl game today is for all the supporters who understand that no matter what, it's Hawaii's team.
Gotta go and tailgate. Go Warriors! Mele Kalikimaka to everyone.

Merry Xmas and do all of us a favor. Stick to commenting on the topics you at least know a little about. In other words, don't share with us your football knowledge. Your comments about football is like George Bush writing a "President for Dummies" book.

Alice, you continue your moronic statements. UH plays no more home games than anybody else, and our road games require that we travel much, much farther than any other team in the country. You need to crawl back into your hole of negativaty. Merry Christmas.

As I am reading all of the comments to this story in http://www.starbulletin.com/sports/20081224_M... I am wondering how many Star-Bulletin readers keep up with their reading about UH football in past Star-Bulletin articles and postings by readers.

San Jose State University, a second rate NCAA team beat us because they were prepared. San Jose State University is not a Top 25 team. They do not have the money and resources to be such. This year in the WAC standings they are 6th out of 9 teams. Fresno State is 5th in the WAC and not really rated as the 22nd best team in the nation. So our game against Notre Dame today is not a question of Coach McMackin not losing faith in our team. It is a question of whether we beat a poor man, Charlie Weis, who has been facing legal and medical problems or will we show him and the people of Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel and our entire nation, if we have the gumption, mercy and kindness, to allow a very deserving man to preserve his dignity in the eyes of our nation. This is the real question behind today's game. I posted this over and over, so the fans and football players at the University of Hawaii and coaching staff have no reason to say, "Well, I've never heard of this!"

Beating Notre Dame could boost Hawaii's image

Upon reading the comments, it seems as if you people have not been keeping up with the news and readings of what is happening at the University of Hawaii.

It also appears as if all of you have been kept in the dark completely by others!

Is this really so?

Please read my links and comment!

I am a supporter of Coach Greg McMackin. I think that he has done a good job with the team, a wonderful job. A number of people quietly pointed out some mistakes of his in being a D-I Head Coach for the very first time. I tend to agree with what other people have said and I see this as McMackin's time of learning and to fit into a completely new role.

In this, anyone would make mistakes. The management of the team and the preparation of the offense. The training of a quarterback and preparing the offense for the game. While Coach Lee is there, he can not replace June Jones. Both men are of different abilities and talents. so, the burden now rest with our new Head Coach Greg McMackin.

Early in the season it was clear to me that Hawaii was going to play in a low-tier, non-BCS bowl game. Hawaii lost to a National Championship Contender (Florida) and to the Big East Champion (Cincinatti). These teams are playing in the top-tier BCS Bowls. Hawaii wasn't good enough to make it to the BCS bowls this year. Judging by Boise State not making it to the BCS, it will be much more difficult for Hawaii to get there. What happens when Hawaii challenges a team with a winning record from a BCS conference? We can't even answer that question because Notre Dame is at .500! That's the problem with this type of situation, even if Hawaii wins does it make the win meaningful?
