Letting Bernard go & Madieu frees up a lot of Cap money The Vikes are over the Cap But I think there going to raise it this year anyway if they play. I would like to know is Rice asking more then Vincent Jackson from the Chargers? Maybe Santonio Holmes will be free If the price is right They will come lol Go Vikings

I'm a realist 357. Jackson and Holmes are all star type players who want all pro statistics. Ponder is 2-3 years before he can help a receiver become all pro. Which is why Rice wants out. It's going to be tough to get a difference making receiver to sign with minnesota in 2011.

With your kind of thinking No top receiver would ever want to play for a rookie QB Not just with the Vikes but any team that is starting a rookie QB. jackson hasnt been a top reciver for two years & Rice dont want out of Minnesota because of Ponder being a rookie QB lol Its Vikings management They hurt Rice's feelings . He isnt to happy with how the front office handled his contract & how they put a frist round tender on him Rice wanted a New contract offer before the lockout started . I didnt see anyone picking up that frist round tender did you. I know the Vikes made a pretty fair offer to Jackson The Chargers is the one that turned down that offer Not Jackson. Jackson would have been a Viking now if the Chargers wasnt asking so much for him. Myself I see the Vikes as a good team still. With a few added players they could be back on top & that is being realistic One year of falling apart Doesnt make the Vikes a Bad team like your making them out to be Add OL men & a CB & S & now Harven is feeling better & faster then ever. Your thinking is to old school Where top players wanted to go to top teams only. Sure a player going to a top team is a added bonus to a player But the players of today frist & foremost want big paydays & Jackson hasnt been a top receiver now for the last two years & if the Jets let go of Holmes why not try to pick him up also if Rice moves on. Holmes is faster then Rice and his hands are good as rice's. The way I see it is Your the one not being realistic with your old school way of thinking. That isnt todays players Go Vikings

Yes, it is more realistic to think Ponder will step in and make any WR an All-Pro his rookie season

They always could lead the league in tackles for an offensive player and get nominated that way.....doh...Favre's retired. Ponder can fill those shoes

If the lockout drags on any longer, he will have all the playbook smarts....but no practical on-hands NFL knowledge to apply it. Bad year to draft a QB by anyone in a situation with no vet leadership...three major degrees or not

Meanwhile, Coach Frazier is just fartin' around his house picking his nose and scratching his nuts waiting to see when the season starts.
