He did fly to meet Favre, it was a wet dream that ended in a cold sweat after Favre threw 28 INT's in purple.

I disagree that pursuing Brett Farve makes the Vikes look fooliish. They simply pursed another option at QB. Brett Farvre probaly does have one more year left in his body, why not try and get him and see what happens?

Wait. The sports media fall all over themselves agonizing over every little detail after Favre is released from the jets, report anonymous sources which have all proven to be inaccurate, and it is the Vikings that now look foolish? Because of interest they never publicly expressed of a person who never said he was coming back?
The only thing driving this series of bad reporting and breathless editorials is the overactive imaginations of hacks like Charley Walters and the wags the the star-trib.

Brett said NO! It's Charley Walters and the majority of the local media that looks foolish.

Walters was even concocting a two year deal with guarantees. Walters even jumped on the rumor that Brett's wife was in town.

Where is media credibility? The National Enquirer would be embarrassed to publish this much rubbish in such a short period of time.

Since when does the newspapers print stories without sources and facts?

...they all want to be the first on a scoop that really doesn't exist, but if it came true, you heard it here first.

That's right report on half truth, no truth, rumor, and out right lies, then blame the organization for looking foolish when it turns out to be a total lie....nice reporting!

The Vikes looking foolish? How? When Rosenfels was signed, they said they might not be done at QB. Chilly said last weekend they would talk about Farve, and nothing else. We don't even know if anyone from the Vikes actually flew down to meet him -- thus, they've said nothing and done nothing extra ordinary.

Who looks foolish in all this is the media and the fans (both Vike and Pack) that have gone overboard with the whole hyped-up circus. This is like political commentary based on a person's party affiliation -- if you dislike the Vikes or Chilly this makes us look bad, and if you like the Vikes and/or Chilly it's no big deal.

Ha! Spot on. I almost forgot. Somebody should document all the asininity and "according to sources" garbage that was floated around in the Minn sports authorities.

If this latest rumor is true, everyone from the Vikings to the those fans that were ready to jump on the Farve bandwagon and to the media all have egg on their collective faces. You knew he had a bad arm, at 39 i/2 years old his mobility is gone plus his desire to go through another training season was nil. It just was not going to happen. Somehow I think his agent was the one to start these rumors and the media particularly Walters bought it lock, stock and barrel.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Libra

An emotional situation is as clear as mud today. You aren't sure about your feelings for a certain someone, nor are you convinced that you know what they're playing at. They may be saying one thing and doing another, and you might even suspect that they're playing games with you or trying to get what they can out of the relationship. Or maybe you're imagining the whole thing? Admit it - at this stage you simply don't know.
