Full story: The Morning Call

It is a shame that a franchise that has as good fan support as any franchise but has so little to show for it. It has been fun watching the Eagles over the past few years. They´ve had good teamsbut remain the only eastern conference team without a Super Bowl victory.Of course the were in only two. They have a total of 3 NFL championships in their entire history. And that for one of the oldest franchises in the league. Add to that that the last one came almost 50 yrs ago.I think Eagle fans deserve better.

This is a disgrace. The Eagles are 48 million under the cap and can’t find a way to have Dawkins retire an Eagle? You could argue that he is the best defensive player they have ever had and they just let him go. The Hymie owner of this team doesn't care about winning, just $$$$$. People should just walk away from this organization until they start spending some coin. They probably would have won a Super Bowl if they weren't so cheap. What a sad day for Eagels fans.
Hey there Jesse Jackson, I didn't know you followed the Eagles!! I haven't heard that "Hymie" term from you in quite a while. Feeling a bit emboldened by the election of OBumma? Like you, Philthadelphia is stinkin', filthy, dirty. Now, go make some rainbows.

First off, you racist idiot, Dawkins has lost a step or two and got beat a ton, for most of the year.

With the salary cap in place, this is a business. He needed to go. The money they would have spent on Dawk could be and will be better spent elsewhere...on a player that is currently worth it.

By the way, how old are you? 80? I haven't heard the word Hymie in decades. Crawl back under your rock, you ancient ignorant racist.

so typical. give up a skilled position player for a hobbled lineman. maybe if fat andy played wideout in his day we would have won a superbowl by now.

other internet reports claim the the Eagles lowballed Dawkins, and basically laughed at his contracr demands and told him " get more than we are offering on the free market"....and he did.
too bad

I heard today he only got 2 million over what the Eagles offered. Now 2 million is a lot to most of us but to an NFL player it isn't. Did he just get PO'd because they wouldn't treat him better or more respectfully? He will lose 2 million just selling his house I would bet..(market condition)did he have an idiot of an agent that talked him into it? Tough choice for the Eagles but always need to think of the future

brian dawkins was the heart and soul of the eagles defense, it's a shame that the organization thinks so little of him, a 1 year deal was truly a slap in the face . my son is a broncos fan, our loss wil truly be their gain, dawkins played his heart out every single down, no wonder there is no team loyalty in the NFL any more . to the moron racist from coplay, i am a white dude, your comments only reflect your ignorance and total lack of class, you bring shame not only to yourself but to all of us who are truly color-blind, who do not see white and black on the playing field, but great athletes dressed in green !!!!choke on your breakfast you loser !!!!

I can't say I'm not happy to not have to play him twice a year. If there is anything I will ever say in a positive light about the Eagles it is this, Brian Dawkins played the game with an intencity that you can not coach. The Eagles are a worse team without him. Don't kid yourself, Dawkins didn't leave for the money he left for a shot at the ring. It speaks volumes to the state of the football team the Eagles are going to put on the field this year.

An awful lot of commentary about a team that will never have what it takes to win a super bowl. Players that don't know how to win the big game and the biggest bunch of @hole fans in the country. Dawkins was smart to finally get the he!! out of town. McNabb would be smart to follow his lead. Plenty of towns would appreciate a QB like McNabb and you losers can get what you asked for last year. Kolb at QB. Prepare for another season of coming up short!

You retard. Denver s-u-c-k-s and are not even close to competing for a title. Granted they only have the Chargers as competion for the AFC West. Your just happy he will not be there to lay that fat a-s-s goon Jacobs out every game.

here we go......Dawkins rode the same greedy moeny train as Reginald White. "God" told Dawk to follow his heart to Denver. Well, God knows less about football than most of these clowns that think this is the end of the world. He is a shell of his former self. He was abused early last season and many of these "I'm gonna die without him" people wanted him benched. Jim Johnson saved the season by LB personnel and moving Dawkins to LB light--he was protected in coverage and they asked for more from Brown, Samuel, Demps and even Lito. Shockey abused him for years and TO made him look old, slow and done on that slant last year. So, now he is off to Denver. A team that has cut 3 D starters and has signed 2 different RB and is now trying to trade J Cutler. I was @ the NFC title game and I've watched in 5 times. Dawkins LOST that game or is as responsible as anyone for the loss. He covered terribly, tackled worse and was constantly outrun or burned on over 10 plays. Dawk: you were a great Eagle....so were about 20+ other people. My guess is about a year from now you'll be back or retiring like Douglas, Trotter and the horribly over-paid Ike Reese. Enjoy Denver and the 6 wins in '09. The Eagles will once again be among the league's elite. They sign or trade for Housh, Boldin or another big name player and this is all forgotten.

...and people ask why I am not an eagle fan--- what LUNK-HEADS running this organization. The ONLY player you could count on to come prepared EVERY game-- the heart of the team, and they treated him like dirt. This way fat-buttt andy can spend more money on his cheese steaks rather than paying for decent players. I am sick of lurie and his tight wallet-- this RUBE doesn't want to win a Super Bowl!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Pisces

Someone is extremely headstrong and defiant today, and there's every chance that you're the one fitting this description. The more others are trying to make you behave yourself or do what they want, the more determined you'll be to do the exact opposite. Well, it is a Full Moon, and a lunar eclipse in emotional Cancer, so you're excused! Show them that you're an individual in your own right without going completely overboard about it, because that will cause trouble. Then once you've got all that off your chest you can relax and look forward to a really Happy New Year!
