Actually Rodney, I thought the INTs came at opportune times, but over all, I see way too many missed tackles as they constantly try to strip the ball. That's an epidemic in all of college and pro football if you ask me !
Maybe the second INT, the first was on the first pass play of the game. An opportune turnover would've been during the eventual game winning drive. Our offense is going to sputter, hopefully early on before it comes together. In the meantime we need the defense to shut the door during crunch time.

The Dolphins AND the Jets are irrelevant on the national stage. The only people who care about the Jets are those who can't get into Giants games and transplanted New Yorkers who COULDN'T MAKE IT THERE and now live in other areas where they aggravate their new neighbors bvy whining--"That's not the way we did it in New York"--Well, you're not in New York because you couldn't measure up to New York.

Lordy, what whiners we have on this board.

One road game, one loss. It's too early to throw in the towel.

The team played hard, and had a good chance to win. What more can a fan ask for?

Green looked solid despite playing without a running game and a "green" OL that gave better pass protection than opening holes for the run game.

The defense played well enough to win some games. Yes, they wilted late in the game. But did you see the size of the Skins' OL? They were HUGE linemen. And they were busted in the chops all game long by the two-prong running attack by Portis and Betts, two pretty darn good RBs.

All game long, we killed ourselves with untimely penalties and mental lapses, which is emblamatic of an offensive group that has not played together for any length of time. That will get better with time.

Cam seems to have inherited Satan's poor time management skills. I hope he explains to the media why he became a coward with one minute to go in the fourth quarter in a tie game, when you have all your timeouts, you have a former Pro Bowl QB who is experienced in the two-minute drill, and you have an outside shot of moving down the field.

He also did not manage the end of the first half well either. He wasted too much time, didn't call timeouts but at least had the guts to go for the TD instead of a tying field goal.

I saw enough in this loss to feel encouraged that the Fins are taking baby steps back toward respectabilty.

It's only one loss. Not the end of the world, people.

Hey Lou: it is early. This is the first game and they have 15 more to go. Which means, there is time.
After that, your post sounded like a call for the end of the world. Relax. This is not the end of existence and no one is going to take the Dolphins away from Miami. Either enjoy watching football, or not. Its all up to you.

Well Lou, this is a Dolphins board and they are not irrelevant here. You're right on about the Jets and their fans however.

I have to disagree with you. Nothing compares to the utter futility of 2004. This does not even come close.
Just a question: does anyone realize that the score was actually tied at the end of regulation and there was the chance that the Dolphins - a rebuilding team - could win their opener on the road? Or did I miss something and were the Dolphins blasted at home 38-14? Folks, this wasn't all bad today.

HEY JET FAN, NAME THE GOOD OFFENSIVE LINEMAN THAT THE PATRIOTS DRAFTED. YOU CANT BECAUSE YOU NO NOTHING ABOUT FOOTBALL. TOM BRADY WINS REGARDLESS OFF THE O-LINE. THATS WHAT SEPARATES THE GOOD FROM THE BAD. HE WAS SACKED 31 TIMES IN 2003 AND THEY STILL WON THE SUPERBOWL. THE DOLPHINS QUARTERBACK WAS SACKED 30 TIMES, THE DOLPHINS RAN FOR MORE YARDS AND MORE RUNNING TOUCHDOWNS. BY THOSE STATS THAT SHOULD TELL YOU THAT THE DOLPHINS HAD A BETTER O-LINE. HOW COME THE PATRIOTS WON...TOM BRADY YOU MORON!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I agree with myself and all I've posted over the last 9 months. The bloody line looked shoddy at best and the secondary gave up HOW MANY YARDS to Randle El on a mere 5 CATCHES? Message to Cam & Randy: you didn't fix the problems of last year. Trent looked good though.

When will the real GMs and Coaches fix what needs to be fixed? I told you fawkers about the deep ball and this weak asz secondary of ours. I told you fawkers about the offensive line and the importance of it's success being contingent to our success. No more arm-chair Qb's! Granted, it's only week #1, but I TOLD YOU ALL. Now go fix it Cam! Get that CB that we should have gotten in the draft or via free agency... too late. Get that LT we should have gotten in the draft or via free agency... too late. I can't believe we lost this game. I'm very truly upset right now... But here's to next week. Let's right the wrongs... GO PHINS!!!

It's hard to get a vertical passing game going when the running game isn't there. Unless the QB is in the caliber of a Marino or Manning.
I'll take dink and dunks all day if the D can continue to limit points and the O can generate some more. This was a winnable game.
Most analysts I've read say that Green doesn't have the arm any more. I'll hold judgement till I see the attempts. All the more reason I would have liked to see that other guy , who's arm is not in question, been given a chance.
Yeah I think Ronnie and Ginn need something hard , yes'sir.
I just see the same type of thing or style of dink and dunk the team to death as they did before, even when Ricky Williams was here and they were running much better. It was a style of fear instilled by the coaches into the QB's or by the limitations of the QBs.

You know, if this is what they have, I just let the younger QB's play because Green is ancient and will not be here much longer. I see his starting nothing but a political move that this coach is making to try to make the coach look better at the expense of younger players. You know, let one of the two other players quarterback. No matter what this guy does here, he does not have the personnel he had in Kansas City.

I just as soon let the young ones play. I thought 13 points allowed was a pretty good measure of a defense that like the whole team has been cannibalized and traded and cut and retooled.

I realize the LOUUUUUUUUUUUU here, we might lose him some day, I think Fredi Gonzo and Loria have driven him over the brink and he might just do himself in so I am worried about that but... look...

What Lou says has a lot of truth in it even if it is the first game only because Huizenga has really presided over the dismantling of a great franchise and has allowed a bunched of hatchet men (including Jimmy Johnson whose team just quit on him and then Huzenga allowed him to name Wannstedt to succeed) coaches and GM's to just implode this franchise. Now the Dolphins are in the midst of another one of these rebuilding periods which I thought was not going to be so but the coach has cleaned house again and remade the team and went to the moon to bring back and concussed 38 year old QB with no springy tendons in his throwing arm.

SO LOU IS GOING TO DO HIMSELF IN BUT HE IS WITHIN REASON IN MUCH OF WHAT HE SAYS... don't do it LOU VALES, we love you mengh! Fredi Gonzo wants to lick your cojones sooth you.

Son, you have serious issues. The Dolphins were supposed to draft a stud QB, CB, & LT, this year. That's pretty realistic thinking. Maybe you could write a letter to Roger Goodell and tell them your angry and you'd like to have the Dolphins get 3-4 picks out of the top 10 slots.

You try to fly under the radar and want to go undetected, but the truth of the matter is you're a 'closet hater.' You and your pal Danny boy or whatever his name is up there in PA. You need to figure out what you are pal.

Goodman will probably put Daniels back on the bench when he's healthy.

To all the jet fans who think theres a differance in 1 loss over another, at the end of the year, they all count the same! This isnt COLEGe football, where "stregth of squedule " is given consideration! IF you miss the playoffs by 1 game, they arelot looking at WHO that loss came against, just that it is there. So Both the Phins, and Jets are 0-1! At least the PHINS were tied, on the road with a chance to win! The JETS were NEVER in the game in thier own home! Oh, and as far as playoffs are converned, the JETS loss hurets them more than the PHINS loss, as it was a loss within the division! So Div games count more than non div games whena tiebreaker is needed! Guess that would put the PHINS Slightly above the jets both being tied at 0-1!!!!!!!
GO PHINS!

OH YES YES YES ... JET FANS CRAWLING FROM ALL THE DARKEST RECESSES OF THE HUMAN SEWAGES OF LIFE.....

let's get it straight one more time.

I notice that in this article's forum there is a gigantic amount of Jets activity. I want to make it clear that there is nothing more vomit inducing and nauseating that being surrounded and mixed in with Jets fans.

That is the slimiest and foulest smell in the world of sport. A JET FAN ....phhhhhhoooooey ... what a smell. It makes me shiver that when I go to the beach, as large as the ocean is, the sea water that touches me might have also touched one of them creatures. There is sea lice and then there is Jet fan lice...and then Jet fan ticks. I am getting nauseated just thinking and talking about it.

Not even at the White House where the slime and smell of putrid corruption of Cheney, Rove and THE DECIDER himself there is the stench that is created by the smell and slime of a Jet fan. Thinking that you might be parked in a traffic light and in the next car over one of the creatures might be there just all twisted up in its own cocoon of Jet fan slime.

Yes. Tremendously enlightening commentary!
Have you considered a future as part of the Fox Noise staff, perhaps pairing with Devil Skank Ann Coulter?
Where you and her can discuss the fallacy or TRUTH that women's clitoris are not really inside the back of the throat as Coulter told Bill O'Reilly who promptly proceeded to want to put the salami in Ann's acid filled mouth. Now where you really thinking of that when you came out with your too brilliant commentary above!

Look, my EIB buddy, let's keep it constructive. I'm not calling you names, don't call me names. While I don't agree with you all the time, I certainly respect you.

My "issues" are regarding that which we were exploited by yesterday... a weak secondary and a (so far) weak line. You don't draft a RB in the third round when you have immediate needs at LT and CB/S. I'm not trying to be a smart-a$z or anything, more than I pretend to know the solutions... but I know the problems, the problems that were not addressed. In hindsight, I'm actually REALLY happy with our draft class! I think it was stellar, with the exception of a #3 being used on a RB... they come a dime-a-dozen.

You, for one, KNOW I've been harping on these two issues for MONTHS! There is no "under the radar", with that said. PS- Excellent broadcast on the EIB today! At least we can agree on THAT much! Take it easy, sir.
