Oakland shows plenty of heart

I'm a big Raider fan but I will have to say they really should have lost this one. Russell looked like a backup high school football player for 59 minutes of the game. I hope Tom Cable learns how to coach a football game soon, because a 2 and 0 Denver team is coming into town, granted the teams they have played are in question. Regardless the Raiders in preseason showed they can win running the ball, and lose passing the ball. With the monsters they have at running back, I would hope they give the ball at least 20 times to one or combined because that is where they are best at offense right now. Lol, McFadden ran the first play for 7 yards then 2 incomplete passes, then punt. Next series 3 incomplete passes in a row. Get with it Cable, do not appease AL with the pass, Just Win Baby with the run. I think he would be fine with that.

I think Cable is doing alright. Russell is the big question mark. I am not writing him off yet, However...he has to start getting completions. If he made 5 or 6 more completions throughout the game his numbers still wouldn't have been great but it may have helped the running game out. The D has kept us in Games. I think Cable is responsible for a good deal of the success we have had. He has the team wanting to win....something the Raiders haven't shown in a long long time. That says a lot about Cable and his staff. They are getting them to believe in themselves.

It may be a case where the Raiders have to pass first to open up the running game. No team can run against 8 or 9 men in the box. One big play against that type of defense and the 8th and 9th man will start backing off.
