TP will start Week 1. Flynn is having issues with his elbow and that's NOT want you want with your QB. TP is the obvious choice to start Week 1--he is not the "Starting QB" for the Raiders for 2013.

I've been a supporter of Flynn from the beginning. I've held off making any statements about the QB situation until I could see more evidence. Now we've seen it. TP looked good last week in the final pre-season game but after watching him play against the opposing "Starters", I can see that he played no better than Flynn. TP's numbers were no better (or even worse) than Flynn and we still lost the game.

Flynn is a better passer (by far) and Pryor is a better scrambler (by far).

Given the loss of Veldheer and how horrible our O-line is, I feel that we will need a QB that can scramble. If Flynn plays, I expect him to get (seriously) injured within 3-4 weeks anyway because of the O-line. I hope TP does well in Week 1 and hangs onto the starting job--he gives us our best chance at winning IMO.

She don't need a qb. We need to beef up our O-line. It won't matter who our qb is. They don't have any time.

Exactly. I wouldn't let the Raiders O-line protect me to walk to the mailbox.

Next off season we should see some improvements to our O-line. I think we've already got a decent start with Wis II, Veldheer and (possibly) Watson, Nix & Bergstrom. Add a good 2nd round pick and a veteran FA (and some depth) and we are on our way.

I'm sold on Stefan Wisniewski and Jared Veldheer. I'm curious to see what Watson and Nix can do this year. I was hoping to see more of Bergstorm, but with his injury, he'll probably end up being a health casualty. Nix was ranked extremely high (like 3rd round pick value) in his draft class so I think he'll end up being a nice undrafted steal. Watson's lack of football experience worries me but we'll see what he can do this year.

For the record.......

If Flynn were truly the better passer, he'd be starting regardless of the OL. Fact is.... TP had better passing #'s than Flynn in the preseason. Flynn looked awful in the preseason. This is the same guy who got BEAT OUT by a rookie last year in Seattle.

you know, it's not even about who is a better (qb) anymore, in stats, looks, or passing. right now as of sunday, it's about who's gonna start. and as of sunday, we will backup whoever starts. having a favorite is one thing rooting for the starter is the thing to do. not even the first game second or third game will deter us from hoping our (qb) does better. anything after that, we could probably start continuing rooting for our starting (qb) or probably start looking at trying to get the next (qb) that will help us continue winning while there's still time. somewhere along the line, the starting (qb) will either get worse, or will get better or visa versa! but as of sunday, our (qb) will be "silver and black"! or,
black and silver?,(LOL).
