Even without Brady, Patriots beat Jets again

There are 41 comments on the Newsday story from Sep 15, 2008, titled Even without Brady, Patriots beat Jets again. In it, Newsday reports that:

Shaun Ellis , the dean of the Jets in his ninth season, spoke evenly. The defensive end rarely raises his voice but his words were powerful and could have synopsized how most felt in a quiet locker room.

That was a bad loss all around yesterday, but I blame Mangini for most of it.
Penalties are an indication of coaching, and the Jets were totally undisciplined yesterday. They killed their own drives, and kept NE's going too many times.

What is with the conservative play calling? Has Manginin and the offensive coordinator gotten the memo that Pennington is not here anymore and Brett Favre is. I mean 1st and goal on the 2 yard line your O-line should have enough ball-s to open ONE DAMN HOLE! That was totally pathetic. Those guys should be embarrassed to call themselves football players. But ok, it's a good NE defense got it. Then how about running a bootleg play, or rolling Favre out to the right or left to make something happen, I mean come on. Mangini is totally not utilizing Favre's talent for the teams benefit. Same old conservative play calling, and BOTH lines were getting pushed all over the field all game long.
The attititude of both teams were easy to see. NE which because of their unproven and inexperienced backup QB should have been the ones playing not to lose. But instead they played to win, and as usual Mangini had the Jets playing NOT TO LOSE!

Wake up Mangini, your team plays with NO FIRE! And it's a direct result of the horrible and conservative play calling.
I'm not expecting miracles this year just because we have Favre, but I sure as hell would like to see the team play like we have him, and not Pennington. Totally ridiculous.
If Mangini can't get this team to play to win and become more disciplined and open up the offense more with all the money they spent and bringing in Favre, then their chances are zilch to make the playoffs. I know it's only two games in, but that game against NE said alot about them and Mangini in particular. If he doesn't take advantage, he should definitely be fired at the end of the year, if not before it.

You know, I honestly thought this team was much better than the garbage I had to watch yesterday. You can't shank 30 yd chip shots for one. And how bout special teams? Can we punt a little further to pin the Pats back say....I don't know, not at our own 45 every posession. Unreal.

Terrible gameplanning by Mangini, and no CLUE what Shotty was running for the offense. Also, nobody on the Jets D can stop the run...still.

And lastly - the Pats get no flags...ever. Period. The Cotch o-interference was BS, and so was the rouging the passer cal lin the 3rd. What about Vrabel when he decked Favre? No call...typical Pats treatment.

Feeley's missed FG and 7 points off turnovers sunk the Jets....

Why the jets run 3 running plays on the 3 yard line with Brett Farve in the huddle is beyond me... Mangini and Schott coached scared.... Why trade for Brett if you don't trust him?

The Jets are an average team at best (with our without Favre). Can someone explain why people think they are better then they are?

There should have been an interference call on that pass to Cotchery. But that's just one play. Jets deserved to lose. Mangini trusted his offense like he should to punch it in fromn three feet. The offensive line should be ashamed of itself.

Hey when are we going to declare Fergason another Jet first round bust?

You could see Favre starting tyo get desperate, like he was when Green Bay stunk and he was the only scoring option. Jet fans get ready for a long season.

I can't blame play calling on the 1st & goal from the 3 yard line.....Jets spent a ton load of money and have 2 1st round picks on the O-Line and couldn't punch it in on a heated rival at home? That's pathetic!!! The play calling for the most part was bad...I agree with yu guys, why have Favre and not use him...stupid.

You can't really call either the Jets or the Bills rivals of the Pats. I think the Jets are 0-7 and the Bills are 0-9. But that's going to change for the Bills.

Why don't you Jet fans abandon the Jersey team?

These dumb jet fans could learn something from you. You sound like you have a grip on reality which is totally lost on the yets hurd of sheep. They soon forget that they have NEVER been dominate in the AFC East. The Bill have been rebuilding for some time and have a good looking team now. It's about time to push the Pat's out of 1st place. Keep the seat warm for the Dolphins in a couple of years.
