Morgan passes a big test

The Carolina Panthers passed their first real test of the preseason Friday night, and it had much bigger (and better) implications than the 24-7 loss to the New England Patriots at Bank of America Stadium.

Middle linebacker Dan Morgan played in game conditions for the first time in nearly a year. He started and played most of the first quarter with no apparent problems.

That's good news for a player and a franchise that have been uncertain about his future since Morgan was sidelined in last year's regular-season opener by his latest concussion. Read more
