It'll be so great to see that strong, creamy skinned, clean cut young man back on the field! I've always dreamt of him playing football with just biker shorts on in my dreams.
Sam Bradford might be somewhat light complexioned in your view; but, he is a Native American and he definitely looks like some full-blood Cherokees.

I am not a college or pro football fan. I did go to all home games when I was a student at Northeastern State in Tahlequah.

I did go to high school football games when I was a full-time teacher for 3 years. One of those years, I was also the announcer for the junior high home football games. Their coach and I were not only Northeastern Graduates; we were also US Army and Vietnam Veterans.

Sam isn't healed up enough to take on Baylor, much less Texas. Sam is Rusty!~ I'm a full blood Cherokee from southern Adair County and that apple doesn't look like me. Baylor By 10

It is my understanding that he isn't full blood, but he is Cherokee, so I guess it would make sense that he wouldn't look like a full blood. The Bradford's all come from Baron in Adair County and the Peavine area in between Stilwell and Westville. Sam's grandpa graduated from Westville High School. I don't care how the guy looks, all I know is that the boy can play FOOTBALL and it seems like he has a good head on his shoulders. Because of his athletic abilities and notariety, people are naturally going to take advantage of it. It is up to him to decide how his infamy will be protrayed and we have heard his words, all we can do is wait and see his actions. I believe that we will see a man of his word and that he will truly turn out to be a POSITIVE role model, not only for Native American youth, but for all young people. Anyone in today's society that will actually use their fame as a method of promoting education, healthy choices, and living a positive life style is someone who should be admired as a hero and deserves his fame! There are thousands of people who would love to be able to go to school at OU and earn a degree from there, who don't have the grades to receive a scholarship or who don't have the money it takes to pay for tuition,or for whatever reason cannot go to school there.... being able to attend OU and receive a degree from there should be an honor in itself and never be wasted. I really believe that Sam Bradford means what he says and values his education at OU. His mother is a teacher and both parents have degrees, I think he has been taught the value of education.....and yes, I am a teacher, in case you couldn't tell from my long winded comments about education...:)

I use a spell check program which works with the Internet Explorer browser. I don't always use it; but, I do try to use it. My "Pre K" teaching experience was with children that age in Sunday School.

I liked what you wrote in your long posted comment.

The Cherokees do have a tradition tale that says the original Cherokees had light complexions like the Western Europeans did and do.

It doesn't matter how much blood quantum a Cherokee has that really makes him Cherokee. It's how much he accepts being Cherokee and tries to be one.

One time, a Cherokee friend invited me to go to a special singing night at her church (in Southwestern Tulsa) where the pastor was also Cherokee. She told me that Gospel singers who were Cherokee from the counties inside the boundaries of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.

While I enjoyed the singing and the fellowship afterwards which included free food, I didn't hear one word in Cherokee the whole evening.

I was going to All Tribes Community Church (American Baptist) at the time and at least one song in Cherokee was usually sung at an ATCC Sunday afternoon worship service. The church had song books where the words of different languages were written in easy to pronounce phonetics.

The folks who were the guest singers were Cherokee in name only as far as the service was concerned.
