Thompson: 'We could have been better'

Dec 31, 2008 Full story: WisInfo 50

Ted Thompson was careful not to say the 6-10 Green Bay Packers of 2008 were nearly as good as their 13-3 team from 2007.

This yrs because of you TED!!! I vote to get rid of you. You and MM. I can not find (print) the words to tell you how I feel. I get upset thinking about you and MM, upset to the point that I can say I can be a bitch. Never was before but you have brought it out in me. Others have gotten in the way when it should all come back to you. To you others, I am sorry. I really am a nice person, TT and MM just set me off!

Thompson: "We could have been better" No shit Einstein! Having this guy as our GM is less than comforting. Thompson and McCarthy both have to go. It will happen. It is just a matter of time. But THE SOONER THE BETTER.

Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy are doing a great job of destroying the Packers! They ARE making us all sorry.

These guys have to go, the sooner the better! Do we really want to take a chance on keeping McCarthy and Thompson around until we hit rock bottom?? With the talent we have on this team, I believe a good coach and manager could make us a superbowl contender in a short time. By keeping Thompson and McCarthy we may be TOILET BOWL contenders in a short time! I don't want to go back to the years of Forrest Gregg and Dan Devine! I don't think any of you Packer Fans do either. That is why we all need to stick together and send those two bums packing!

I feel the same way you do Sergio! Brett gave us many great games and memories most of us will never forget. He deserved to retire with honor. Because of those two pieces of shit, that wasn't possible! Perhaps if we get a good coach, we can bring him back for a game and retire him a Packer with honor. I am glad you are a Packer Fan Sergio. Politics and all that other bullshit doesn't matter as long as we are united as Packer Fans.
Go Pack!!!

TT was the start of all of Favre's problems wanting to leave! Favre was the greatest QB Green Bay has ever seen! TT treated him like he was just another player. TT lied to Favre from start, back when marco rivera and mike wahl were free agents TT promised Favre he would get at least one back, Farve even offerd to take a pay cut! TT never even talked to either of them, and Favre found out. Randy Moss was available and expressed a lot of interest in the Packers, TT promised Favre he was trying to get Moss, but Moss didnt except. Favre talked to Moss later and found out that wasn't true! Then we had the chance a marriucci and TT screwed Farve on that deal, to go with MM! Favre told TT & MM that needed more time to think and they told him they needed an answer then! Look at how Favre must have been thinking, "they lied and screwed me over 3 times already, and now they are pushing me like this?"! TT should without a doubt be FIRED! And if MM wants to stand with TT, then he should be FIRED TOO!!! I wanna see the glory days again, but we will NEVER see them with TT & MM in Green Bay!

Of course, you are right. But it is obvious that Farve wasn't the only player to have problems with Thompson. It is obvious that Woodson and Barnett don't have much faith in TT either. I'm sure that there are many more, but the players have seen what happens if you get too public about this. Few, if any, players have any confidence in Thompson I'm sure. Ted is harming the team in more ways than any of us will ever know.

So if we went 6-10 with Brett, things would be better? You guys are still bent out of shape when Brett left, get over it and move on. Did you feel this way when we were 13-3 with Ted? doubt it. Quit being bandwagon fans.

Maybe we wouldn't have gone 6-10? Look, I said this in re: Culter--what else is he gonna say? "I'm satisfied?" My concerns with Ted aren't personal. I believe he means and intends well. It's a tough business and results matter. Patience is getting short--just read up and down these posts.

If we went 6-10 with Brett things would not be better. We would still be 6-10. I was very skeptical of Thompson even when the Packers were 13-3, because that wasn't until year 3 and he had provided plenty of reason to be skeptical, but so what? What difference does it make either way? The Packers aren't 13-3 dumbass.

Pull your head out of Thompson's butt and try to come up with something to say that makes some sense.

You should shoot for at least 8-8 and maybe gain a little respect. Nobody in the nfl is worried about the pack. No excuse for being 6-10.

as the Bears CHOKED the last game and out of the playoffs after Minn had lost? You folks in Chicago need some respectability as well. Im not worried about 8-8, we are a better team then that.

You folks in the wind city have your own worries, like stating the season 0-1 after you lose to the Packers on Sunday night.

The Packers could have been better all right. They could have had a good GM. Instead they hired Ted Thompson.
