Let's get into the season a little more before we start talking draft, but I do agree with the Luck pick. And the rate things are going for them they should be picking out a number for him right about now.
Indianapolis is on the fast track for Luck. Kansas City is in the mix as well.

The Vikings need to run the table. And McNabb could well be the key.

Just take the best player available regardless of position. I'm not a big fan of what they're doing in pass defense with dropping the defensive ends into pass coverage and rushing a linebacker. Sure it worked with the Allen interception but there seems to be a lot of confusion and our linebackers seem to be out of position a lot. And now our run defence hasn't looked as impressive as it has in the past. let's see what happens when Kevin Williams gets back. They have a lot of work to do on both sides of the ball.

The Vikings offensive line is as leaky as a cracked toilet bowl.

I have Kansas City with the inside track. Indy might get Manning back - doubt he wants Luck in his house, lol. I don't think we can lose to KC, that's how bad they appear to be. The hope is Haley could be fired & they may go on a celebratory winning streak.

Um, I think we did that with Ponder. Give him some time to learn the system, then throw him out there. Everyone is fawning over Rodgers right now but keep in mind, he sat for four years and was dismal is his first two years in the preseason before they gave him the job. The Vikings tried it with Jackson and it didn't work out so they brought in Favre, who had his best season statisticly his first year here while he was on the verge of retirement. And I'm not taking a shot here but Brady was a sixth round draft pick, Warner and (I believe) Delhomme are the two quarterbacks that have made it to a super bowl without being drafted. Also, in the last 10 years there have been 2 quarterbacks that were signed as free agents that have won the superbowl, Brees and Johnson. Feel free to fact check in case I'm wrong.
The Viks really stretched in picking him so high. He's a bright guy, just not terrible physically talented. Reminds me of Jay Fiedler--a caretaker at best. Caretakers don't win SBs in 2011 NFL.

That was a decade ago, not now. In today's NFL a great D cannot make up for a mediocre to poor QB play.

Btw, you were the only QB in NFL history to be cut right after winning a SB. They saw the future coming. To win a SB today, you need a Flacco. A Dilfer just won't do.

Time will tell if Ponder will be able to lead them to a super bowl. There are a ton of quarterbacks that are drafted because they are going to be "the next great one" and there are others that have success that slip through the cracks. The position is so tough to evaluate. They do need to surround with a ton of talent on both sides of the ball.
