I am so glad to see that Metrolink is getting on board with 1950's safety standards. Given their great safety record that last coupel of years, ne would think they would at least lead the way in being only 50 years out of date. I guess you just have to kill a few people before safety is a real issue.

Although this is 50 year old technology it sounds like it is just the ticket. I don't believe we need the latest most technologically packed whizbang so long as what we get works. What begs the question now is why this system isn't already employed on all railroads all across America. If it was being used since after WWII as they claim, it should be on all the tracks and should never have been taken off of any either. Even if they have super wow golly GPS gadgets they should just be on top of this system.

Another example of how our guys in D.C. have let us down. The financial crisis, railroad safety, bridges on the verge of collapse. I think Iím staying off airplanes because we read about problems with air traffic control systems and staffing. At least on a highway, bridge or railroad youíre a lot closer to the ground when something goes phuttzz or craaaack!

Gee... Metrolink concerned about safety? Wow. Just in time. We appreciate your concern. Hope you have the money to make these wonderful improvements after paying off all the lawsuits.
