Here we go AGAIN!!!!!!! and we are expected to buy season passes for a team who consistently looses??? I think the high paid football coaches should give their salary back

After a $4-million grant from the educational side of the university .... you would have hoped to win the season opener .... and not get freakin' whooped 41-21 AT HOME.

Glad to see the offense doing something, but obviously not enough to keep the defense off the field in the 4th quarter

New season... same ol Aggies. On an 8 game losing streak going back to last season. Seems to me you need to recruit some deffense and not offense. Deffense is what wins games and it hasen't happened in the last 6 years. I thought getting rid of Mummy would've helped but I guess not. 74 points to 307 in the last 8 games..... Time to either go down to Division II or do away with the program. Costing too much $$$$$$$$$$$ to keep the program running. Oh I forgot, they'll just take it away from the education fund and keep trying to win. Just hope the new President of NMSU see's this. And tickets going for $13.00 to see them lose. They will not win the rest of the games until maybe San Jose State.

I feel they did pretty good considering they are rebuilding! I saw some bright spots on both sides off the ball. The staff will review film and get these kids back on track! Don't give up on the Aggies!

Teddy, shame you don't know what your talking about, I was at the game,.... the offense was the problem,... they could not sustain a drive in the first half, 3 plays and out; over and over again.... and because of the ineffective offense the defense was totally exhausted... why don;t you actually write about something you know what your talking about like basket weaving......

A big difference over last years offensive ineptness. The final score is not indicative of the game as a whole and I feel Coach Walker has the program on the right path. I like to see that the offense is taking the blame and I also like the total quiet coming from the Lobo faithful.

The program is a loser and will continue to be. Drop it or send it down to a lower level. It is a sad ass situation.$13 for three hours of agony... tailgate was good though

You wonder why anyone who plays football would come here to play. Is it that they can all play and thats all they have to do. I know get an education(bull). Use the football field to raise goats.

I think it's time to seriously look at moving to FCS (D1-AA). As a sidenote, only two of the top ten in the FCS poll are undefeated after two weeks, and two in the top ten are winless. Unlike the BCS, you can lose a game and still win a championship. Plus the champion is decided on the field, not by having a poll or computer pick the two teams to play for it. Even if the Aggies had a dream season and went undefeated, they would not play for a championship (see Boise State). Having as an ultimate goal playing in a bowl game in Albuquerque is not very motivating for most fans. I'm wondering if it would be better for NMSU to have 6-1 or 7-0 record as an FCS playoff team, rather than 2-5 or 1-6 as Division I. And more importantly, which would draw more fans? Is there concern that NMSU would still lose even at a lower division? Does being an FCS football team harm academics more than the current situation does, at least financially?

This was CDW's 14th game as Head Coach he has at least 6-8 players that never would have come to NMSU in years past. That was our QB's first D-1 game and he was much better than last year. Teddy were you even at the game your two articles are short & weak. Get some quotes from the players and the Coaches or go to working for some weekly rag. I was at the game & at the Idaho opener last year MUCH IMPROVED.

So on a note that can be fixed quicker than building a program, what happened to the energetic announcer that got what crowd was there in to the games? The new guy wasn't horrible, but... well... hmmm... was that part of the budget cut?

The guys look promising!! Walker has a smart team having to deal with a bunch of new players and a bunch of new coaches that will definitely come together this year. It was difficult to watch the defense try and carry the whole team but the difference between watching last seasons games and this opener, even if they lost, was HUGE. As for this Aggie fan, I'll be cheering on the Crimson and White at UTEP next week!

The outcome was predictable - they were 10 1/2 pt underdogs before the game started, they put on a good show for the first two series, the superior team figured out what was going on and then the Maggies were outcoached.
Same will happen in the next three games - Maggies are 0-4 but there is hope there are at least three WAC teams the Maggies could possibly beat - but go figure they will find a way to loose.
Next up UTEP - lets see what happens!
