Chad Greenbay - I mean Greenway signing is just another desperate attempt by the Vikings to become competitive. If the Packers can win the Superbowl with 4 different OLB's including small colleges and walk-ons then why can't the Vikings do the same. The Vikings will never be able to buy a superbown contender, they have to build one - duh!!!

I can't stand packer fans but respect Green Bay's organization and front office. They groomed Rogers the proper way and it paid off. Had they thrown him to the wolves like SF did to Alex Smith, I believe his fate would have been the same. They recognized their O-Line was horrible after Jared Allen abused ROgers and then addressed it via the draft. One year after being dominated by the Vikes they make the necessary adjustments and win the SB. For every bad luck injury they had, they struck gold by two horrible calls in the Vikes game at Lameblow..#1 Quarles clearly drops a TD and it's ruled a TD only Clueless didn't realize it.#2. Shiancoe catches a TD and it's overruled,(had to be indisputable evidence of a drop) which was later determined the incorrect call by the head office. The apology didn't give the Vikes the win, only allowed GB to make the playoffs by the skin of their teeth. The Giants collapse after leading by 21 in the 4th qtr to the Eggles which would have eliminated the Pack. They won and good for ROgers who is deserving, too bad we Vikes fans couldn't get some of that NFL officiating love in the 09 Championship game...

As a fan for 40 years, and a huge fan of Joe Webb's, I would still do WHATEVER it takes to secure the #1 draft pick next year. If you're a long time football fan I'm sure you recognize what I'm suggesting. Aside from Matt Ryan, there hasn't been a more blue chip, Franchise QB, like Andrew Luck since Manning. This kid has the arm, wheels, smarts, pedigree and desire to be great for many years. Stockpile draft picks, find a Herschel type trade for Adrian, ensure you have the ammo to get the kid. Start building the O-line this year and next after the Luck pick. Call Carolina and offer them dang near anything for their pick next year. Better yet Carson Palmer or re-signing TJack would allow the Vikes to go 0-16 next year and get Luck.

"Cook isn't a reliable starter, but he's a versatile backup who can play all three positions along the offensive line."

And even that is stretching the truth. Please be one of the 18 FAs that we don't resign.

I still think they will get a long term deal done with Greenway. He wants to remain a Vikings. That would free up the tag for another, possibly Rice. of course this all depends on if a deal is struck between the owners and players.

Everything you said is true, but we need to move on. What comes around goes around. It's a cyclical league and the NFL is all about parity.

On the Rice thing, The Vikings do have a very promising young (23 year old) on board, Emmanuel Arceneaux(?) 6'2, 211 lbs, from Alford St.. Film shows that he has great leaping ability, can catch and hold onto the ball, run like a rabbit chased by hounds...So new to the team, he has not yet been assigned a jersey number...Maybe Rices'?...

DT...Promising is one thing, but can he compete against NFL caliber DB's. That's a big step coming from Alford St. Hope you are right. Parcell's has a great quote... "your potential is going to get me fired". When I see it on the field, then I'll believe it.

Hawk would be a step up from Leber, but not Henderson and Greenway. Hawk realistically will have to sign for a team, maybe even the Packers, for half or less of the 10 mil he was on contract for. I think he led your team in tackles last year, so I'm surprised that the Packers are not trying harder to resign him.

they shouldn't have been in the playoffs with a 7-9 record refs changed it though

beat Eagles how, oh the vikings hobbled Vick and provided the recipe for beating him on Tuesday nights, gee even a victory knows how to come back and hurt the Vikes in the end

beat Falcons, Falcons lost both CBs week 17 and 16(maybe 14) and had a injury decimated secondary going into that game, so yeah as long as he didn't waste his time on short throws Rodgers had a pretty clear way to beat em

beat Bears, the Same Bears that lost to Detroit and beat a Seahwaks 7-9 team to win and bye the way had a joke called cryler at QB, the Bears defense is a threat when healthy but that's about it

so yeah worst route to Super Bowl ever they are NOT the '08 Steelers just a joke and will be horrible next year, as for the beatdown of Pittsburgh oh I don't know those early mistakes on the Steelers side and that GreenBay seems to have their number every year and a limping Big Ben

The pack got lucky

I don't see why not, Joe Kapp did the same (QB not WR but still)

Furthermore he won't be paid a giant sum and Frazier doesn't seek media attention like Chilly did, so a let down won't happen, that and I think Jaymar Johnson will suprise everyone next year as well, if we lose Rice though we need to more guys, with Rice we need a deep threat like Moss because at the end of the day Rice is slow
