Terral pryor is good enough to start let him have a chance at least to be a starting qb for the raiders

So why not have Flynn to fall back on if he Pryor fails?

Pryor vs Flynn for the starting spot? This coming season is looking pretty good. Im thinking Pryor is gonna take it.Hes super hungry for it. But I honestly wouldn't be mad at Flynn starting. Pryor with good coaching and a mentor stewing for another year is recipe for success. Raiders 2013!!!!

Maybe we will have our version of Rodgers if Flynn plays really well. If not still have an OK qb crop one will be back up but who?

We should just get geno smith for a back up

If this happens, who has the edge? Some would say Pryor as he has worked the system. But he also had a hard time impressing the Raiders staff. So if Flynn looks sharp. Pryor could be riding pine. I want who ever gives us a better chance to win. I don't have a favorite. Really all Raiders fans should just want who wins the job as they give us the best chance to win.

Cutting Palmer would cost the Raiders 9 million in dead money. Matt Flynn will cost 5 million . That's 14 million total. So the Raiders would get a lesser QB and pay 1 million more to do so . Not to mention giving up draft picks STUPID MOVE !!!

i totally agree. that's why i don't really understand this deal. keeping palmer would be 13, this deal costs us 14. i'm thinking things just went really south with palmer, especially after all the talk came out. i dint think he wants to be a raider. i honestly rather have seen us release palmer and draft geno smith, or pick up v. young, or even wait on c. mccoy. would have saved us a few million, if cutting cost is the main concern, which it seems to be. but if flynn is a raider, i'm down for him and pryor to fight it out. obviously there is something going on with pryor that the coaches aren't feeling yet, so whoever earns that top spot I'll be down for. go raiders!

Matt Flynn will be good but I wouldn't give more than a 3rd round pick for him and even then I think that is pushing it since we don't have a second. 4th rounder would be fair enough

Pack fan here. The guy can definitely play. And has a national championship under his belt, so leadership's not a issue. I believe it's the salary that is the holdup (although Hasselbeck is making the same amount to backup).

Well, consider this, we got one of the most sought after guys basically from the "bargain bin". Sounds like our whole off season, i know, but i can't help but hope a few of these pieces Reggie is throwing together really click well once September rolls around.

Geno Smith has BUST written all over him. And honestly you are saying give Pryor a chance? Why give anyone a chance that hasn't proved they are the best option? If Pryor proves better than Flynn, great, start'em. If not start Flynn. If we get a third string better than Flynn and Pryor. Start them. Bottom line best should start regardless.

I think Geno will be ok. I watched some of his games. He's smart, protects the ball and cans read "D" (42 Tds 6INTS). It's the WV "D" that a bust. A good "high school defense" couda'done better than the
WV "D".

However, I agree, just let Pryor & Flynn 'slug it out' and the best man win. There should competition at every position. No one should feel "secure".
