Makes you wonder why he wasn't playing corner or safety sooner. He's been making tackles on special teams all year. He had a good game everywhere today. Good to see.

I do not know, the guy makes plays every time he is on the field, still, Saban, Cameron and Sparano believe he is not a starter. I guess he does not train hard but to me he is a game player.

Jason Allen was the one that forced the fumble, the announcer incorrectly stated it was Bell. If you look at it in slow motion, you can see Allen's helmet colliding with the ball, juggling it loose.

IMO - The coaches have good reason not to play Allen, he is just a slow learner, and playing in the backfield requires a lot of smarts. He should be able to play safety or corner as needed by the team by now, his 3rd year. He's had plenty of reps at both positions and plenty of time in the film room. His "excuse" about moving back to corner as being "tough", is just that, an excuse. The guy has all the physical skills you could want and can hit. Maybe, finally, the smarts needed to play in the secondary are starting to sink in. Good for the Fins, and good for us fans.

Jason Allen is a playmaker. Coaches obviously dont know everything. I'm going to start a petition if they don't let this guy play more. He finally plays and leads the team in tackles. With J.Allen and Y. Bell in the secondary we can get atleast 2 potential turnovers a game. C'mon practice, practice, who needs practice...He was born to play this game.

Great games by both Jason Allen + Ted Ginn jr. Showing that both have skills that can keep them in this league a long time, now the trick is seeing if both can do it week after week.

OK Ethan, let's not get carried away. One game does not erase three years of mostly failures. In 3 years most DBs, like running backs, either have it or not, and they show it, either way, very quickly in their careers. That punt Jason downed? Allen showed why he has bounced around between bench warmer, safety and corner. He lacks instincts. He should have known where he was, how close he was to the sideline and tap dance it while downing the ball. Instead he played it like he was in the middle of the field. What saved him of what would have been your criticism was a split second, the time it took for the ball to hit him before his foot stepped out of bounds.

Suit him up, put him on the field Jason Allen is around the ball, and makes plays. The two receptions were an underthrown ball and perfect pass not mistake as to say allowing TD's for being out of place. He beat the punt returner to the ball at the 3 yd line, I at first thought he came from the sideline, no way a player can get there that fast, but he did. I extolled on Friday why Jason Allen and Ted Ginn should be on the field read Fridays comments. Boy did them two back me up, I didn't see one tackle Jason Allen missed he's a tackler.

Move over johnson & johnson; we now have allen & allen rocking the house in the cb set! I think that the defense played better sunday and will continue to grow. The more rest that they receive, the better they will play on game day! The coaches should reduce physical contact and cardiovascular activities as the season goes on. This will reduce injuries and burnout.

From section 454 he looked pretty damn good yesterday.

This is another example of stupid fans giving all the "real" fans with actual knowledge of the game a bad name.

I guess Ethans conscience is on hiatus.

I'm curious...What bad plays from yesterday were you guys pointing out? I though Jason did an excellent job. And if I remember correctly, he didn't miss one tackle.

I agree with this. I was previously down on JAllen after (for whatever reason) he had not managed to get himself on the field after more than a year in the NFL. However, once he DID finally get in the lineup last season, it was clear to me that he was one of our best DBs, and that maybe he should have been playing all along, regardless of whatever reason THREE separate regimes have been reluctant to play him. I'm very happy that JAllen had such a good game yesterday, but not really surprised. He deserves to start for the Fins.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Virgo

It's okay to have high expectations, but try to keep in mind that no one can be all things to all people. As the Moon spends one last day in its current sign, it urges you to find a way to recognize others for their strengths, and forgive them their weaknesses. Virgoans' idiosyncrasies must look like strange quirks from the outside as well! Fate ties up the loose ends towards the end of the day.
