I think the most noxious aspect of that win was Dungy's after match interview when he said (paraphrasing) "The Lord must have wanted us to win that game." It was his birthday that day, I think.
Is this the mysterious way in which deities move? By smiting NFL referees with temporary rule amnesia?
Hopefully, Tampa can put a dent in the Colts season tomorrow, so we won't have to grind our teeth while a head coach tells the nation that their SB success was a reward for piety, thus implying that their win was more honorable than other team victories in other years.
Im not particuraly religious but you have got a chip on your shoulder thats huge. By the way,, thanks for letting us have your coach and you got chucky. Maybe the Lord does work in mysterious ways??

Obviously the game was thrown by the refs. Everytime the Colts screwed up, the refs did whatever they could to bail them out. That leaping penalty was completely unwarranted. The replay clearly showed that there was no penalty on the play and Vandermiss should have not been able to re-try the FG. What a lucky break for the Colts.

As a longtime Bucs' fan, I hope I never see a game like that one again. Although, I have to admit, it was entertaining!

Funny. If I were a Bucs fan I would have a few other choice words for that game than "entertaining."

You're a good sport, though.

I Have to say that most of the game was definitely NOT entertaining for me. But the last 4-5 minutes were Amazing.

Cheers.

Rule 10, Section 1, Article 4. Does anyone up in Indianapolis understand the rules of the game?
I understand that the team with the most points wins. Suck on that for awhile, why don't ya?

GO COLTS ! I love U and coach dungy, too.
I really hate to be negative. We will lose the game tomorrow. But, we'll only lose 2 all season.

I had recently moved to Florida from Indianapolis And as a previous Colts season ticket holder and a lot of Buc fans as new found friends I was glued to the game. Warren Sapp and Keyshawn Johnson was miked up and (quote Keyshwan) said in the second half "I'm making Marvin Harrison my bitch" I became enraged and prayed the Colts could make a miracle comback. The rest is history. I stayed up till about 3 in the morning listening to the radio and TV gloating at the call in whiners. I still live in FL and the Colts are my team.

Gee Phil, at the time, the Officials didn't know the rule and neither did Gruden. What a miracle that you can refer to it now as if you knew it at the time. Impressive! Virtually the same article appeared in the Sporting News yesterday...not exactly a "homer" source. Those grapes a little sour?
