I think you are looking at this backwards. It is in the media because all the players are thinking about it. This is the season to re-sign soon-to-be free-agent players, before the draft, which is only a couple months away. It takes months to negotiate multi-million contracts.

Once again, BET you have raised the level of discussion to new heights. Have you been listening to the bizarre beastiality stuff from the trolls with your equine fellatio comments?

As for your take, we have tried signing free agents. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Easier (and certainly cheaper) to work through the draft. With less money tied up in (often) over-rated free agents, we are free to sign our own players. But you know this.

So, GM BET, who out on the free agent market should we give a bunch of money to, over say Clark or Lilja? Or is your plan that we should just look at who is available regardless of our needs and pick them up? Hoping to fit them into the roster and then dumping one of our existing players to make room.

Its an INDIANAPOLIS fishwrap! Duh! Don't Patriot fans have access to their favorite fishrap in the New England region? They must not since they think they have to visit and comment on things written here in Indy about the COLTS. Get a life New Englanders, the world does not revolve around New England (as opposed to what Old England?).

First of all "BET", that same Seattle team your talking about don't even have on superbowl ring. Second when you draft geat players like Poilan dose, you don't need the big freeagent players"COREY SIMON". They don't take chances like that cause most of the time it bites you and you get caped out. "Fran", keep talking your crap, Manning won two MVP's and didn't win a superbowl either year. I would be very worried about nexted week, and the Jagures, and not comming on an Indy website and talking about MVP's. Your team will make our front page nexted week, Jacksonville 28, New England 24. GO COLTS!!

Dallas Clark is such a clutch player for the Colts! I would hope that he is a priority to keep on the payroll! Sure he's had a few dropped passed lately, but nine times out of ten he is a key play maker for Indianapolis! In my opinion, to lose Dallas would mean a huge hole to fill in the offense. KEEP CLARK PLEASE!

Polian has given Indy fans great football to watch. He is the best. If only we could have the same quality Pacers we had in early 90's with Smits, the Davis boys, Mark Jackson ane Reggie Miller...sigh..

Speaking of free agents signings; I was not up on the release of Simeon Rice, what was the real reason behind him getting cut; albeit, the Colts did a remarkable job without him, but what was his story?

Do not even mention Manning and Brady in the same paragraph. Manning won his SB by playing a honest game, but Brady cheated to win his 3. The refs cheated for the Pats, and that is the ONLY reason that they beat the Colts. I would rather have Manning than Brady anyday. The Pats will go down in their first post season game. Keep up the class act Bill P, Tony, Peyton, and all others. Brady pushes the blame to other team members, while Manning admits his mistakes like a true gentleman.

You know how good "Back-to-Back" Superbowl Champions sounds??? All the talk has been about the Pats and the "pursuit of perfection" :-p. That's all fine and dandy, especially in one of the weakest divisions i've ever seen. All the talk will be about the Colts after the first back-to-back Champion since Elway and the Broncos. Go Horse!

Here, Here! Now there was a team that deserved a Championship! I like these Pacers, but it will never be the same. I loath the day when the same fate inevitably will befall the Colts :-(. Enjoy these Golden Years Colts Fans!!!!

P.S. WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY EXTRA TO GET FSN! I WANT MY PACERS GAMES! JUST INCLUDE IT IN THE EXPENSIVE PACKAGE I'M ALREADY PAYING FOR!!!

Sweet! I could not have said it better myself. This should stir up the chowder heads!

Seriously, when I am desperate enough to watch the Patsies games, I have found memories of the Micheal Jordon with the Bulls. They sure get their share of calls or "lack of." Jerome Henderson gets away with holding all of the time!

Manning was quoted as saying, "You like to see the organization your playing for have the commitment to being a contender every single year," I hope that continues." It works both ways Manning!!! Your salary is going to count 18 million against the cap so redo your contract so the Colts can sign other players to help you and the team. You make at least 4 times more money than the average NFL player just from endoresments alone!
Do you want a few more million in the bank when you already have tens of millions or more rings???
Don't blame Manning, point fingers at the system. The players association would never allow a player to take far less than their market value to 'win more rings'. It would completely undermine their system. If one of the top 10 players in the league asked for money par with an average player, it would restrict other players on the market from obtaining their 'fair market value'. Society will never see this as they will always point to players as being the evil and greed in the system but it is the overall structure that endorses these contracts and numbers.

The colts always have a ton of talent so they should win 12 games a year. He never signs good free agents which is what wins multiple SB's.
We paid $70 for a one-demsional player who has not palyed this year.

I love it you still try to come off as an intellectual fan and in the same breath try to elude Colts fans are merely nearsighted in their opinions. Redskins, Lions, Cardinals, and any of the other free agent built teams look like dynasties to you? Even the Pats are built on their own drafted players fused with key additions in specific positions. Face it, Pats and Colts are built very similar. One just relies more on free agents and another on 4th and 5th round picks to fill second and third tier positions. Moss is an anomaly. There are 15 free agent overspends and trade busts for every Moss. When you are going to bring an intelligent point of view?

I wish the Colts players would stop being so selfish and demanding these top player contracts. Its a shame. I hate the Pats but their players take less money to keep the team together and thats why they are great every year. Marvin, Reggie, and Dallas fail to realize that Peyton and the system help their stats a ton and none of them would do as great on another team. I love Dallas and I hope he tells his agent that he is in a great place and stays. Look at other tight ends numbers after they left here.
