Can't wait for football. I think it will be a great experience this year to see the Bears play!
Ditto.

I've got an idea - why not take quartbacks with all 3 compensatory picks? Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in while!

Looks like Josh McDaniels read the the memo Lovie Smith sent of how to field questions on who your quarterback is.

-Always repeat the same thing. Make it so that they'd be better off asking their questions to a tape recorder. I find saying the QB's first name is more personal, and gives people a nice, warm feeling.

-Never respond with any emotion, but sometimes smile as if what they're asking is ridiculous. You have to convey an image of pure confidence whether or not any decision you've made regarding your QB is clearly questionable.

<quoted text> true, they are 3-0 with WRECKS GROSSMAN as the starter but it was not his play that won those games, remember how awesome the defense and special teams used to be.
Unbelievable. So I guess it wasn't the defense & special teams that bailed out Kyle Orton's TWO 2nd half INTs last year?

Or how about the GREAT Neckbeard's stellar performance in the 37-3 drubbing in the first match-up?

Packers are switching to a 3-4 defense this season without the right personnel for it yet.
This is a lucky break for the Bears to play them so early.
Maybe not on the line, but they have some pretty sick linebackers. It will be a great game.

Its nice the Packers dont have to open up with a good team for their first game, the fact that Lovie is 4-1 at Lambeau means nothing as a new season begins, the Packers will be much better this season and its great to see the Bears come to town early to participate in the early bearhunt.
It's been a long, cold winter, you've been trapped inside for months, and dementia is setting in. Yooper, why don't you get out and do some ice fishing? Once the snow melts, and the lakes thaw around May, you can enjoy your two months or so of decent weather before the Bears head north and kick the Packers ass.

Jesus...I love how easy it is to still blame every bad thing about the Bears on a QB that doesn't play for the team any more. I didn't even witness this kind of hatred for Cade McNown and he is probably the most repugnant QB to have been on the team...in a long line of waste like Rick Mirer, Kordell Stewart, and Chad Hutchinson.

Yet Grossman's limited success is ALWAYS attributed to "stellar defense & special teams." The defense was awesome in 2005 (Grossman played in 1.5 regular season games) and 2006 (Grossman played in 16 games). Hester didn't show up until 2006.

So the limited games Grossman played in, in '03,'04,'07, and '08...who gets the credit for those? Because the defense & ST were nothing special.

But let's be sure to ignore all that and rip on the QB that isn't here any more.

For God's sake, can't people just forget about this guy and instead look at how poor this team is in the offseason? They can't identify talent nor spend on acquiring playmakers. Plus their current plan is to enter the season with Kyle Orton, Caleb Hanie, and Brett Basanez as their QBs. That is laughable.

Those first three losses were the infamous closing second defensive collapses against CAR, TB, and ATL. Besides that, they only lost by more than a score twice. Hopefully, they'll make some good moves and get it done in 2009!

Because this is Chicago, where the term, "scapegoating" was born. It's easier to blame one person or "goat" than to see the big picture. Plus, I don't think half the Grossman bashers are actually sober enough to remember the games they watch, that he played only a game and a half last season, or that he's not even on the team anymore! He will continue to be the source of blame for years to come.

Those who do realize that he didn't play last season and is now gone, simply go from "Grossman Sucks" to "Orton Sucks." They do that because...well why complicate things? It's easier just to ignore the obvious and go with what's comfortable. Adrian Peterson runs for 230 yards and four touchdowns against the Bears, but they lost because "Orton Sucks!"

yeah like how bad the franchise is for not caring about the fans and how bad they are for not getting a real qb in here.

Were the Bears not 9-7 last season? Reading some of these post you would think this was the Detroit Lions Blog!!!! The Bears don't get hit with a personal foul on 3rd and long against Tampa Bay from the end zone and the secondary makes a play against Atlanta and the Bears are 11-5. We have just finished mini-camp and people are complaining and predicting 3 and 4 wins!! Gimmie a Break!!!

What? I'm always the last one to find out about these things! Well who was the guy that took snaps all of last season, and has a 22-11 career record?

grossman haters play too much madden i think. yeah the guy flamed out but he had some good moments with the team too. if anyone thinks rex was worse than cade then their memory is extremely short. i just hope our 1st round pick (hopefully RT) can contribute to the team this year. i agree with the comment about the pack featuring a new defense and the bears being able to exploit that. GO BEARS!!!

Yes, if you play for the Bears, DO NOT ask or take jersey number "8". My apologies to Maury Buford. But "8" has since been soiled and carries bad karma.

The GB linebackers have big names, and they don't play too well. However, the switch to the 3-4 will make them almost as good as their names.
