If Wrecks thinks his stock sunk last year, he ain't seen nothing yet.

I hope he has a good financial advisor and practices wearing a sideline hat and carrying a clip board. He's going to see a lot of sideline action this season before it is through.

I was making a point of how bad the line was last year not trying to say anything about Benson. I misspoke about the YPC he did have 4.1 YPC in 157 Rushes to 3.4 in 196 this last year. The change in carries is less than 40 so saying it is due to him carrying the ball more is a flawed arguement.
Wait did you even read my post or just glance at it and go off on a rant about offense? I never said they were superbowl bound I never said they would be great because of the draft I never said that Benson is the savior or most of the shit you talked about!!!
I did say they have a legit shot at making the playoffs if they fix the line I did say they need to grab a couple of the young FA gaurds such as Jacob Bell to fix the line and that if they can do this it would make every aspect of the offense much better. Learn to read dipsh1t!
You like to bash ideas cause you have no fuckking clue about what you think they should do! You would say go sign Alan Fanaca who is 32 to a 6 year deal for more than the jets did wouldn't you!
You must have forgotten that the Bears won 12 games with no offense when Orton was a rookie. Hmmm how could that be possible without drafting 8 probowlers... Fucking Idiot!
My logic about Benson is not just that his YPC dropped, when he played with Jones, Jones YPC was higher. Last year he and A Peterson split duty Peterson had 3/4 of Benson's carries and his number where identical percentage wise, each had 3.4 YPC, Benson had 25 percent more carries, 25, percent more TD. Benson had 4, Peterson had three. So there numbers are identical. Benson was slower last year than the year before. Peterson was way better catching out of the backfield. Peterson is not nor will he ever be a starter at RB, he was better last year than Benson. That tells you how bad Benson has gotten. Now to make things worse Benson had a severe injury this season, he had surgery and they put a metal plate in his leg to reattach the bone. He is in the words of Lovie and Angelo, a step or so slower than he was last year. Which is not good last year he was not even as good as a back up this year he is even slower. He also now has a very injury prone history. If last year Benson was not as good as Peterson a below average Back up, then there is no way he is going to be better than he was last year, this year, after major of season surgery and loosing a step. Dude I am sorry but he is done, we need a new back real bad, and Mendenhall is a stud. Cmon jump on the band wagon, it's fun, he is better than Benson ever was. Did you see him against USC or at the combine. The guy is the cheese man, he has got the chedder. Goodbye Benson hello Illinois Flash. If you are worried about the Oline in the Second round Angelo will probably nab Guard Albert Branden, who is a stud, or OT Gosder Cherilus, or Maybe Sam Baker, one of them will be there and there all as good as Otah.

I agree but I think the Benson part was taken out of context. I am hoping we get either Mendenhall or if lucky Mcfadden in the first. I think Branden in the second would be great especially if Flacco is gone as expected. But if they go RB in the first they need to look hard at the Tackle choices in the Second assuming they don't sign a FA of course. They need a dominant Running game to get back to the playoffs. Mendenhall and Benson backfield would be a good combo if they can get the o-line to create holes again.

Mendenhall had a bad Oline with Illinois, and in the Rose Bowl against a vastly superior team he did what ever he wanted, 155 yards rushing, 9.1 yards per carry, caught 5 passes for 59 yards. He had 1681 rushing yars on the season 17 TD's and a 6.4 YPC he caught 34 passes for 318 yards. Yeah he is good. But Benson, Benson wasn't even as good as Peterson last year, percentage wise ther nubers are identical, but Peterson blocked and caught passes out of the backfield. No Benson, Benson=bad, Benson now even slower than last year, Benson needs to go, Benson is evil. There will be a real good OT in the second round, but it's a real toss up between RB and OT for the Bears. They are in a pinch, but I think Mendenhall is a bit more of a sure thing than the OT. We play ball control on offense so the two things we neeed the most are OT and RB, it's a total toss up.

Sorry when I said that Mendenhall and Benson would be good I ment like Tiki and Ron Dayne were good together. Dayne sucks but he is a fat bruiser like Benson and was a good pounder for short yardage and goalline situations. Obviously Mendenhall would carry the load. Peterson sucks he runs hard but he is not very big and he is slow too.

No I get it, but the latest word on Benson is real bad. He may have lost more than a couple of steps after his surgery. There are now some questions if he can play at all this year or ever. Is last 2 injuries where real bad. The word is Chicago does not want anyone to know how bad they need a running back before the draft.

Then they should sign Chris Brown two a two year deal and cut Benson after the draft. Not like Benson is that important anyway although if we go into next season with the sucky AP as the starter I will be really pissed.

Brown has injury issues and is looking at a deal with the Texans right now. He is trying to use the Bears to increase the offer from Texas. He did it last year too with Tenn.
