What are you talking about he is one of the worse coverage safety's in football. He got Benched by the Saints and Saints fans hate him. He gave up like 12 TD's last year, he is brutal. He had a decent rookie year and then dropped like a rock. Teams actually looked for him and attacked, he is no better than Williams in coverage and is a a couple of steps down from Brown. The guy is a total liability in pass coverage. I bet he can't even beat out Steltz.
You have to now ask, "Why didn't Steltz play more last year?"

My guess, he didn't have the brain power to make the adjustment from college to the NFL. Reminds me of a converted wide reciever Angelo is unwisely hanging his hat on.

To address your comment directed at someone hinting they're close to being done as a Bears fan. True fan? Who cares? I love the NFL, but after 22 years of hitting my head against the wall every Sunday, I'm close to hanging up my official status as a dedicated Bears fan too.

Call me a traitor, but after seeing a game at Lambeau Field last year, I will never set foot in the travesty by the Lake ever again. You want to see true fans? Go to Lambeau, and enjoy not being showered with beer and beer puke breath.

actually is apretty decent safety. and your obviously not a true fan if you stop being a fan because they dont win.
Very true. You gotta be a fan through good times and bad, or else move to St. Louis.

And I can't see how *any* corner could be ruled out of making this team. Tillman couldn't cover with a power roller, and Vasher stays healthy about as long as Grossman or Mike Brown.

i think hes an average safety for the league. hes obviously not ed reed, but you can do far worse. and he would easily beat out steltz for the starting role.

i think tillman would be a much better safety than he is a corner. and if i were a bears, i would hope they move him to safety. i think vasher is a damn good player, but he does tend to get injured quite a bit.

I would do the same. Tillman's one and only skill is running up and stripping the ball when one of his teammates has already made the tackle. That's the work of a safety.

him playing corner for so long i think would also make him a decent cover safety, but his main thing is being able to strip the ball.

And that's worth $4 million a year? Geez, I could run up to the pile and grab the ball, and I'm a 45 year old man with a beer belly and bad knees!

Once my six-pack abs turned into a keg, it really affected my time in the 40, and I can just forget about that 42" vertical now...
