Dave,
REX doesn't deserve change of scenary. He deserves nothing.
Why do you keep on supporting a QB that can't play at the NFL level? I just don't understand you. It is what it is and he is what he is. Bears should have shown him the door years ago.
He surely will get a change of scenary. Some team will take a chance on him, but he surely doesn't deserve it unless you are related somehow to REX.
What the heck did Rex ever do to you that causes such hate?

Like him or not, you're going to read his name for a long time when reading stat's on the Top 10 individual seasons a Bear's QB has ever had.

That's ever, since the franchise started. And as we all know, that's an awful lot of Bear QB's.

So again, what was it that Rex did to you personally?

My point exactly, that is why I said they cannot evaluate talent. We all know they cannot coach it! That is why they cut a player and he goes somewhere else and develops into a great player. They give up on players too soon. Right players wrong scheme.

An example in right players wrong scheme is the Cover 2, they get beat using it however; they still use it. In fact they are too blind to see it definitely sucks, it does not work. Their personnel is better suited for a different scheme than the Cover 2. They prove that every time they abandon it and then they have success on Defense. Just plain Dumb Coaching.

As far as the coaching staff goes turner and babich should be gone.As far as Lovie goes, name me a coach who has had a better overall record than Smith since Halaas and Dikta. You can't. I really believe most of the people who want Lovie gone are pretty stupid. If there had been better coordinators available and he did not go after any I would say he should be fired, but there were not.All the good coordinators became head coaches or locked up by there teams.I thought losing Rivera was a mistake but he is not lighting up the world in San Diego. Most of you complain no matter what so why don't you do us real fans a favor and buzz off and find a new team.

Its not as if Orton has a bad arm. His passes were on target in a 45 mph wind last December... whereas the biggest guns of them all, Brett Favre couldnt throw it beyond 5 yards.
All I can say is share the drugs, pal.
Brett Favre has one of the strongest arms in recent history, and Orton's popgun arm does not compare to Favre's in any way, shape or form.
If you seriously think Orton has a stronger arm than Favre, your opinions are completely and totally meaningless and not worth further comment.
As far as who I'd take over Orton, it's time to give Hanie a shot and see what he's got. All I know for sure at this point is that Orton is not the answer, and that is obvious to anyone with a clue, which by definition excludes "braindeadjohn".
Thanks for the laugh, though.

While this is true, it's hard to drop back into coverage when you show blitz every play. If the defensive line had been productive this year, the cover 2 would have worked. Since it hasn't been, a new scheme should have been employed at mid-season.

You seem to think firing a Head Coach would be something new in Chicago.

Take a look at Ditka's record the last three years before he was fired in Chicago.

He had won a Super Bowl, and returned to the play-offs after, including the NFC Championship game.

If Lovie doesn't win, Lovie should be gone.

OK article Mike. But my opinion is none of these players would effectively address the team's Bears' shortcomings because the players would have this year. What the Bears need next year is what you implied, solidify their core but make changes to their coaching staff - particularly defensively. In their losses recently, the Bears have been consistently beaten in the trenches. So, in priority, they need to improve their offensive line and the improve their interior defensive structure (tackles). They need to either draft a big time WR or find one in free agency. Lastly, they need to trade up to find a quality safety (Taylor Mays, USC) through the draft to strengthen the middle of the defense and find quality QB that start without liability when Orton is out. As in last year, they need to get busy-that is if they want to do something in the playoff. But the problem is commitment to truly improve the team or to cut corners to save money. Unfortunately, management has consistently opted for the latter.

I'm sorry to say you are almost as goofy as the Bears are.[1] Garza is far from solid, he has been beaten like a drum most of the year [2] Anderson is not being utilized properly.[3] Kreutz is done.[4] Tait is done but Angelo has failed to replace or have an heir.[5] Grossman is not a NFL QB.[6] For three years Tillman has played out of postion.[7] Urlacher will not last another season in the middle.[8] Jamar Williams??? that's on Babich and Lovie (another athlete wasted in this putrid system). Also you left off the coaching staff CLEAN HOUSE!!!!

Bruce you ain't so bright either if you think playing a rookie QB ahead of Orton you should be called bruisedbrainBruce. Orton was fine before he was hurt and the coaches in their infinate wisdom decided to play musical chairs with the WR's just like anything else you need continuity.

It just incenses me that Urlacher is already hinting about retiring. Didn't this idiot come into camp last year demanding an extension because he felt like he more left in him? Yep, he certainly doesn't need the money, since the Bears organization already shelled more out for his overrated butt!
