The team obviously gave up on the coach a long time ago, to bad the idiot AD didn't fire dummy after the BUS game.

Hal's departure is long overdue - he never ever
made a serious run at what he thought he could
pull off, bombed against all good teams and could
pull off DIV II wins but nothing else.

The AD will make the right call in the next few days. He probably wanted to make the move weeks ago but with the UNM announcement of Long leaving the timing was not right. Lots of D-1 jobs open this year as a few more coaches "got shot" yesterday.

When I saw this score, I believe that the Aggies have to fire Mumme. You can't lose to Utah State in a disgusting fashion.

Boosters are definately out of control. The Bowling Green Football coach was fired and he had a 71% winning record. He fell to 6 - 6 this year and was bounced.

If NMSU was 7 - 6 we would be estatic. The real problem here is that so many people are unhappy. It will be interesting to see how Dr. Boston handles this situation. Working in collegiate football for eleven years and professional for seven it is not easy to make so many people happy.

There are situations with the demographics of both NMSU and UTEP, it is difficult to recruit here. We need someone who is very familiar with the community. Mike Price is doing a great job and he was only 5 - 7. Studies have been done, but in all honesty it appears that NMSU does not have the resources to follow the results of the studies.

Good Luck Dr. Boston, my prayers are with you!

So which bowl game are the Aggies going to? I haven't heard the announcement yet.

The final game in Mumme's career here pretty much summed up the last 4 years. Hope, but reality sucks.

We need Barney Cotton. He has been here before and knows the challenges facing the program and had us very competitive as OC under Samuel. He would be a disciplinarian and a great hire and would do well in the community and not turn people off like Mumme.

The only bowl the Aggies are gonna see is the bowl holding the cheese dip and nachos on January 1....
I don't know whether to laugh or cry. FORTY effing SEVEN to TWO?!?!?!?!?!

Well...let's remain optimistic about this...
Lets pretend we're all Dallas or Pittsburgh fans, and just say to ourselves, over and over:
"There's always next season..."

Put more cash into the Rugby program.

And, the stadiums' proper name is The Chile Bowl, anyway...

OK, so I can understand the offense not scoring a point against Boise State.

But the offense not scoring a point against a team that only had two wins going into yesterday's game?

What part of "HAL MUST GO" does Dr. Boston not understand???????

In have heard rumors that Hal is out. I have some inside sources that have access to the locker room and heard that he already mentioned it to the players and the official announcement will be made Monday morning. Hopefully I wasn't lied to. That is my only regret in picking NMSU as my college, just imagine how fun it would be to have a good college football program. sad day!

Shallow Hal should get a new job as the towel spokesman for Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Boston should go back east (Massachusetts maybe?)

We need an ethical president at NMSU.

And we need ethical regents who can dismantle the university the way it is presently set up (far too many vice presidents, senior VPs, etc.). In other words, we need to give the university back to THE PEOPLE.

Find the money you need, or drop back to Div. I-AA.
Borrowing and diverting money from education to this program is not the answer. The boosters, media and other business interests need to put up the bucks or get out of the way, while the program is right-sized.

I agree. I was kind of on the fence with Mumme going or staying. I saw pros and cons with both, but after losing to Utah St?! That badly?! Come ON! It is time for a new football staff and a new recruiting program. Mumme needs to go.

Give the job to Bradley and Miller.

Bradley and Miller...you know...two people who actually know what they are doing in coaching and motivating football players.

(And I know someone will say or think something like, "but it's college level football..not the same..blah blah blah..." to which I would say, "Whats the worst that can happen? The Aggies lose a bunch of games?")

Want pride in Aggie football within the community, start off with keeping it, in the community.

Someone posted in the other section thats it's been 50 years since the Aggies had a bowl game.

50 years. Damn near three generations.

I also agree with someone named 'squished roadkill.'
