Raiders may purge Hall, Walker

Full story: Berryessa Sun

Raiders coach Tom Cable wasn't kidding Monday when he said he and Al Davis won't stand by and let this season slip away without doing whatever it takes to snap the Raiders from their funk.

Deangelo Hall leads us with 3 INTs, don't release him, release Michael Huff. He hasn't done anything special since being drafted #7 overall in 2006. Javon Walker and Ashlie Lelie can go too since they haven't done anything remarkable; they're just a couple of former pro bowlers that are passed their prime.

Plus if we release Hall, I don't think Routt or Johnson could handle the starting duties.

I agree with Releasing Huff...But why hold on to a HUGE contract with little gain....If they hold on the Raiders will lose their shirt...He is way to expensive for the little return we have gotten...I know its early but when you have a high profile guy with a high profile contract and little return the decision is easy!

I love all the B/S that comes after stuff like this, things like Hall isnt suited to the 'man-to-man' style the Raiders play and struggled to adjust. I mean, he's a corner, paid big money and he should be able to do a decent job of covering a WR. That's what CB's do.

They can either cover well or they can't.

Dont release anybody. I am sick and tired of not having enough draft picks when we have NO depth at any position except for RB. Sure trade away Huff, Walker, Gallery, Tommy Kelly, whatever get a bunch of 2 and 3rd rounders for those lay-a-bouts, just pay Hall his $, re-sign Ndandi and upgrade the Goddamn offensive line and WR corp.

I pulled this from FoxSports...
A good reason to get rid of Hall...
"In his eight games in Oakland, Hall was beaten 40 times for 552 yards on 66 passes thrown his way, according to data compiled by STATS LLC. He gave up more yards than any defender this season and was tied for third worst in catches allowed."

Rumors continue to surface that Al Davis will buy some new Hybrid motorcycles for unnamed key Raider players with hopes of salvaging the season.

Yeah but it's not his fault that QBs aren't throwing towards Nnamdi and I think that is a big reason for those numbers.

Not really. The Raiders are committed to Russell. You may want to try the Tampa Bay site; Bruce Allen and Jon Gruden are former Raiders and they may take the bait.

WHAT???? Are you kidding? It shouldn't matter that they are avoiding Namdi...Has has blown 50 of 66 passes thrown his way!!!! He is a Joke! I can't believe you are defending him....He ranks last in the league for his position....there are other teams that have one good DB and the other is thrown to alot but guess what...they aren't ranked last at there position...not only is he ranked last but he is paid almost if not the most for that position.

yep! paid too good for what he has not done! tex you do not have to go with what we say and we would never go against you. shit my opinions always suck. just ask the haters (LOL) but hall, let way too many go! 3 int's and some descent blocking here and there. i too saw him kind of picking up momentum but, clearly was not enough! big money, big blow outs for big plays, for big losses! he had to go! GO RAIDERS!!!

I'm not saying he didn't have to go; I'm saying that there are others that should've gone before him. I'm not saying that he's been Lester Hayes, Mike Haynes, Willie Brown or Terry McDaniel either. I'm not happy with his inconsistancy either, but I still think he's better than our other options.

true, like the others, benching might have been the answer. i wrote somewhere that it might not have been a good idea at this moment to ridd of him yet but had he stayed sitting on the bench with all that money? i guess that was not in RAIDERS plans. wonder if ryan told al or cable to ridd of him so he can maybe save his job! cable say's, it's a decision we made and all agreed with to let him go. whoever takes over his spot (halls) is gonna have it tough but he will probably do just as bad or as well. "or as well"i hope! GO RAIDERS!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Virgo

Someone is easily angered today, and you'll want to tiptoe around them at every opportunity. They might be on the defensive and imagine that you're getting at them all the time, or they could be quick to point the finger of blame straight at you. It won't be an easy day, but try not to get swept up in the emotional dramas that are swirling around you. They'll only exhaust you.
