Monday night was expensive for three Vikings. Cornerback Antoine Winfield, receiver Robert Ferguson and linebacker Chad Greenway were all fined by the NFL on Friday.

Iv'e never seen so many replays of a tug on a facemask as there were Monday night. It was replayed so many times it was getting ridiculous. Get on with the game, a missed face mask call is not going to be overuled. What was the point? Penalty I agree. Did it cause the fumble? no , the ball was punched out. Bush has a history of fumbling and this was just another one.

Fining Greenway for an uncalled Facemask Penalty? What a joke!!! If the refs had called the penalty, he would not have gotten a fine. But, since the refs screwed up and missed it, he gets fined. The NFL is becoming a joke. If a quarterback gets tackled, its a fine. An unintentional helmet-to-helmet hit is a fine. Do the NFL bigwigs realize that sometimes the defensive player is going for a tackle and the offensive guy might make a move which causes the contact to take place other than where the defensive guy intends it to? Then they fine Winfield for sliding down a goal post, but receivers can put on a show and trash talk after even routine catches, but nothing is done. Defensive backs can get burned and if the receiver drops the ball, they act like they've just saved the world. The ground can't cause a fumble is a joke, too.... hold onto the ball! The NFL has become a glamorized game of Powder Puff Football.

How about the officials get fined? You know how often face masks get grabbed in a game? The officials F/up. THEY missed the penalty. I mean, I realize that the NFL's probably p*$$ed-off because The Vikings won a game that they were supposed to lose, but put the blame where it belongs. How often did Harris ride 30 yards or more hanging onto a recievers' pants as they went past 2-3 officials? How often was he ever fined for hits out of bounds? How about unsportsman-like conduct? Etc. etc.
How about that great horse collar tackle Allen used a couple weeks ago? Tough $h!t. It's football. Let the guys play, for chrissakes! So they got away with a few things. Does that make them "unique"?- START FINING OFFICIALS FOR BAD OR MISSED CALLS!!!

as a football fan,i enjoy watching endzone celebrations...they are very entertaining and creative..i think if the league is going to hand out fines for simple celebrations...then fine their referees for missing all those f#$%K'n calls every freakin sunday... to fine a player based on attention on a monday night...now that is just sad...pereira... you could give klink a run for is money as a poster boy for idiots monthly!!!...GO VIKES!!!

Fans should be happy - the face mask was the play that got the Vikes the win. Proves that the comments after the losses,that the officials were always against the Vikings just isn't true. Now you're just p o 'd that the team won & BC is safe for another few games (minimum).

Fines are issued on missed or non calls all the time. But excessive celebration is a stupid call, although remember the "act like you've done it before" coach. Exactly right, athletes will soon be celebrating a huddle break, returning from half time, etc...

To be even-handed, the NFL will have to review every play from every game every week to look for calls that were not made by the game officials, in order to assess fines. What hogwash. This just proves what the Purple Faithful have long suspected: we have no friends in high places in League offices, and those League officials hate the Vikings. Well, right back at them!
