The reason why Funaki cannot do the job is because he is too short. He cannot see over the line. His passes get knocked down. He cannot see open receivers downfield because he's too short. When he throws he's throwing blind.
He needs to ask politely to the defensive line, "Can you move a little so I can see my receiver please?"
Either be polite or McMackin needs to start feeding him longgg rice and get him to smoke longgg cigars. He needs to grow about 5 inches.
Doug Flutie was about 5'7" or 5'8". He did just fine at Boston College and in the NFL. Steve Young was MAYBE 6 ft. I saw him close-up, in person, and I'd say he was closer to 5'10" or 5'11".

It's a painful season to watch, but I'm hoping that the Warriors get their act together enough to at least make the Aloha Bowl. It things don't change the only post season action they'll get is cutting the grass at Punch Bowl.

Offensive coordinator sucks and shows lack of creativity and adjustment ability. Plays are being called like Spurrier used to when he had a dominant team at Florida. Spurrier and Lee are similar in the fact their lack of skill and talent became evident when they moved up to play with the big boys who had the same level or more talent. Spurrier (college to NFL) and Lee (high school to Div I).

The offensive line overall is pretty weak with a few exceptions. If the line can't block against a decent or good team, then the Warriors won't be able to run or pass no matter who plays QB.

Inoke Funaki should be a slotback or wideout. He is not QB material. He's tough, a good leader, and can run, but he is not a good QB. Inoke is short, can't throw the long ball, is inaccurate, is very weak at reading defenses and play progressions, and makes it very easy for opposing teams to game plan against the UH offense. To exacerbate Inoke's situation, as stated previosly, the offensive line has it's issues and the OC is out of his league (and should be out of a job). To makes things worst, the receivers are no where near the talent we had the past few years and also seem to have less game brain.

Give Gruanke another shot and if he can't the job done, give Rausch or one of the other QBs on the team a chance to get some experience so they'll be better prepared for next year.

I still believe in and support Mac and the Warriors, but common sense needs to be applied and adjustments to players and coaches need to be made if not to salvage the season, to at least prepare for the future.

Lee's gotta go. They obviously can't cut it on the collegiate level. Cal is still a high school legend, but not college material, and Ron, well the current ranking of our offense says it all. Mcmackin' get your whip a crackin'!!! we can't blame the kids so we gotta critique the staff.
Sorry for the heat guys but this is D1 football and you get the big bucks to produce results.
