HOW??? can a school like FSU continue to have behavior problems with their football athletes. What price is victory?

They continue to have problems because it's a lousy college with dumb athletes and even dumber (if that's possible...well at FSU it is) students. Go Gators. UF is and will always be the Gold standard in the state of Florida. Face it, Noles (and idiot Canes), nobody cares you guys. It's a Gator state. It's a Gator Nation. GOOOOOOOOOO GATORS

Well let's see I am actually Happy Bobby Bowden is taking action and showing the players they need to be responsible for their actions on and off the field.

FSU has had a lot of probelms the past 2 years, who knows if its young men being dumb and not using their head or if they have huge character issues.

On the other hand, The Gators seem to have people in trouble often, but because everyone in gainesville bows down to them just cause they are football players they can do whatever they want. Urban Meyer doesnt suspend them and dont tell me there all good kids, cause there not

HMM.. seems the Canes have had no one suspended?? Players in trouble the past 2 years= O

Bobby Im proud the way you handled it, just as Randy Shannon would. As for the UF Boosters, they will fatten Urban's pockets if he turns a blind eye and doesnt suspend them, just like they fatten his pockets by running up the score in everygame so they can cover all their bets. Just like the Ol' ball coach use to do as well

Urban Meyer kicked Jacques Rickerson off the team less than a month ago. Please do your research before making blanket statements.

I was in the union that day, and saw everything happen. It was this dumb ass frat Sigma Phi Beta, who got in the guys face. They punched the football player, and the other guys came to help out. Everyone is saying the receivers were a hit squad. They were defending in a very hostile environment. The whole frat was there trying to beat up the player. IT was crowded area and things escalated. The punishments are fair because they should be above getting into beefs, but it was a crime of action, not premeditated. The frat was banned out of union, and i hope they get terminated. Still just a barbaric site to see, people just trying to keep it real and dumb.

...So, the police investigation has not been concluded. There is not yet an evidentiary report about who did what to whom. Apparently, whoever started the fight has not been determined. No distinction has been made between those who attacked and those who defended themselves...
...Yet, Coach Bowden has passed sentence already...
...Did he learn nothing from Duke's rush to judgment? Did anybody?
...Not to affront goody-goody (modern PC) minds--but not so long ago in America, youth's occasional brawls were no big deal. In the jock arenas, fistfights were not uncommon. Criminal cases, suspensions?
...Your older parents (definitely your grandparents) would have laughed heartily at such ridiculous reactions by so-called adults, coaches and cops alike...
...Lighten up, citizens. Get a grip on RealLife perspective...This is paltry stuff, vs the true and violent crimes committed by young thugs, jocks included...

You Gators are clueless morons. Your corrupt football operation and your egomaniacal fan base are the most despised organization in Div. 1 football. U.F. is just an oversized bloated state diploma mill at best. Gold standard my a**!

You are a naive moron. If you think this was Bowden's decision, you need to get your head out of the sand. Bowden first said he was going to wait on the report, which he knew would not be complete before he took any action. Then he meets with the A.D. and the Pres. and levies the suspensions. Spetman and Wetheral TOLD Bobby to suspend the players. We all know Bobby has a history of being very lax when it comes to discipline. If it was up to Bobby these players would be suited up today. Also, Shannon better be careful. He has an offensive lineman who has buddied up with an agent and is driving a brand new car. I don't need a source for this, I've seen it.

FSU has always been sticter than other schools with in house punishments. I just think this one is way over the top. Bert Reed was remorseful two suspensions ago. This is over kill in his case, so let him play.

WE ARE FSU!!! LETS ROLL!!
