Axiom: It is better to win ugly than to lose.

It was a two touchdown victory in the Big Ten on the road.
Purdue isn't East Carolina or Syracuse, it is not reasonable to expect to win by 30+ points on the road in the Big Ten.
The next three games (Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio State) will be much tougher. We will know much more about the 2008 Nittany Lions after those three games.

It was expected that Penn State would come out a little flat. They just don't play well on the road or in early games. However, I think both teams suffered from the crappy field conditions. Both sides were slipping while clumps of turf were flying around. It's amazing with as much money each Big 10 school earns in a year that we can't have quality playing fields at all the schools. Even though it wasn't 50 points, I'm still happy with the fact that Penn State threw the ball well, ran the ball well, had few penalties and no turnovers. Defense also had a good game and almost had another shut out against the Boilermakers
