Sizing up team has resulted in upsizing

After last season, Dolphins coach Tony Sparano was upfront about what his playoff team needed to get to the next level - get "bigger and stronger." Based on roster moves the team has made the past few weeks the Dolphins are closer to achieving Sparano's goals.

If this works according to plan, it's sure going to be fun watching the Dolphins O-lone and defensive front 7 physically dominate other teams on Sundays.

As a Raider fan who has seen all of Jake Grove's games, I'm baffled by Sparano's statement. Grove is a solid player whose weakness is taking on big defensive tackles. Grove has struggled against all the top tackles he has faced, regularly getting pushed around. Raider fans have been complaining about his run blocking for years. And he's the same size as Satele.

How in the world can Sparano say that? I don't care what he says or how Samson played, the fact is he started 32 games since coming to the league. Grove stays injured and he had problems with big DT's in the AFC west. Satele works better in our scheme then Grove. And if you want to take that fact out lets look at it this way. Who missed more games,Grove. Who had multiple knee surgeries,Grove. Who has slow feet and movement,Grove. They both are about the same size except Satele has better movement in the ZBS. He didnt fit the fins scheme but he does ours and that should make him better then he was there. Ask any Raider fan what they call Grove. They call him "Ol noodle knees"!!!! Thank you Parcells for taking him.
