What kind of screwed up, twisted logic is this?

It's historic to win 23 consecutive regular season games, and more regular season games in a decade than any other team, ever. But winning 16 straight regular season games in 1 season is not historic?

What he REALLY meant was that winning 16 straight regular season games in 1 season was not historic becuse it wasn't the FIRST TIME someone had done it. Too bad the Colts won't be the FIRST TEAM to go 19-0.

Stupid decision...

Not a popular decision with their fan base obviously, their players, the fans AT THAT game, and all the other AFC teams that were fighting for a wild card slot, the Steelers especially, being super bowl champs and needing the Colts to win that one for their chances to dramatically improve. Not to mention is it really even fair from a athlete's and other teams point of view?

Wow. A modicum of civilty. I'm impressed EVF.

I couldn't agree with you more. All year long the coaches and GMs stress the value of hard work, giving it all you've got, giving 110%, leaving it all on the field, giving it your best shot, etc, then they make hypocrits of themselves with a boneheaded decision like this, not to mention, destroying the moral of the players. They had a chance at matching perfection, and being the only team in NFL history to go 19-0. It's all gone now. That has to be a huge letdown for the players.

Yes, Peyton Manning is a great QB and just might duplicate this season again. He's already gone 7-0 (2007), 9-0 (2006), 13-0 (2005), and 14-0 (2009). It's possible the Colts could put together another season like this one, but I wouldn't count on it. And, as you mentioned, what about all those other teams and playoff scenarios that depend on teams PLAYING TO WIN. This just makes a mockery of the whole seeding system.

I can't believe someone as smart as Polian can't see this...
