Eagles president Banner essentially told Comcast Sportsnet that early last March, a couple of weeks before Fitzgerald and the Cardinals reached agreement on a contract extension that essentially gave them $8 million of salary-cap space for the current season and gave the wide receiver more guaranteed years and money.
