Vikings rookie cornerback Chris Cook burned by foe, friend

Full story: TwinCities.com

Rookie cornerback Chris Cook's worst day in the NFL started with Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers exploiting his inexperience, continued with his benching, followed by a wicked sideline confrontation with veteran Ray Edwards, and ended with a message to carry forward.

We need a younger DL and more experience secondary out there... We need to reverse the two.. Our DL doesn't get pressure on Rodgers being to old and the Young Secondary can not hold up...

Im tired, but i'll still cheer this team regardless of the drama and record. Love this team way too much to stop being loyal. Bad season, poor coaching, and hurts to say this, terrible QB play. DBs are just plain awful and Team looks dead out there. welp, looking foward to when they play the Redskins, I will be there cheering them on!!! Vikes...

Why be so surprised at Cook? Garbage pick. Not physical in the run game (doesn't like contact), gets beat over the top regularly, gives up the easy catch underneath,...read (again, or for those who never did). Other teams scouts did. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/56...

Lets see:

Out= Ced, Benny, Paymah
In = Cook, Lito, Allen

Plus our safeties s*&k....

Of the 6 cb's mentioned above:
1-Ce, 2-Benny, 3-Paymah, 4-Lito, 5-Allen. 6-Cook

No wonder.

Bottom line, Ced Griffin's injury has killed this defense, this was a kid who through the better part of last year was playing at a pro bowl level. Teams were looking at Winfield's side more often than Ced's side when the two were healthy.

But I never thought the drop off would be this bad and I do blame the coaching staff and front office for not getting more depth along the defensive backfield. Allen and Cook are just getting smoked so often, I know when a big play is completed, 99 percent of the time its on their end.

I honestly dont blame Ray for being frustrated, the D-line was getting good pressure on Rodgers, but our secondary was horrific.

I hope Griffin comes back and plays at the same level we saw midseason last year, but after 2 acl's, it may not be in the cards for him.

I even thought when he blew his acl last year in the NFC Championship game, we would struggle big time had we won and played Manning.

It's a little rich for Edwards to be barking at Cook. Just the week before Edwards got lit up by constantly giving up the edge to Jay Cutler, allowing him to scramble right and throw down field almost unhindered. The fact is that the team defense has been abysmal most of the year - very little pass rush, bad tackling, out of position to make a play too often, dropping sure interceptions, etc. It's time to make some serious changes on the coaching staff and with the personnel.

So the defensive gameplan for the Vikings was let a rookie d back cover Greg Jennings one on one? And when it doesn't work scream at the rookie? Sounds like Vikings football baby! Reap it, clowns.

so Prince Amukarara, tends to give up the deep ball
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/12...
so Davon House, good pick in my head
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/16...
-jimmy smith, injured if he fails to 4th take him would have said 3rd but...

-look the QB is hit more than any other in the league
-the HB best ever will have a short career if the o-line cant even get him past the line of scrimmage
-cant develop a young QB without a decent o-line

The CB position is just failing systematically every year so take this rare talent
Patrick Peterson
http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml...
or if he is drafted by someone else draft Derek Sherrod in first or second if availabe
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/12...
-use T-Jack and Webb interchangebaly draft a QB in the 2nd if wanted
-take Davon House in the second in Sherrod is gone
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/16...
-the DT position isnt so strong as said so draft John Graves
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/11...
-the CB has to be addresed so take
how about Jason Teague in the fifth
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/16...
-maybe this guy ase well kick returner 5th
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/12...
rest is garbage picks take wild risks

maybe Edwards should keep his fat mouth shut and do HIS job..If he does his job better then the DB's won't get burned so often. Any QB who has the kind of time to sit back there and look over the whole field becuz the D line can't put any pressure on the QB, well a DB will get burned 9 times out 10 so again Edwards, go after your linemates, not some little DB.....what a complete pu55y this guy is...bottom line...shut the eff up and do YOUR job, how about that concept?

I can cover as well as Chris Cook. I would just be 7-8 yards father behind the receiver after he catchs the ball. How about looking back to see whats coming?

They made those changes today. Childress out the door and now Frazier who leads that pathetic defense is suppose to be the answer---keep him until the end of the season and then go out and get a truely proven coach, Coward would be my choice since Dungy wants nothing to do with coaching any longer..........

Frazier is not the answer, look at the defense this year, pathetic, no other word for it, its like they have no coaching what so ever, and now put the head defense coach in head position of the entire team? wow,, it just gets better and better, not!!
Who wants to put bets down on when Zigy announces the sale of the Vikings?
And where do you think the Vikes will end up?
