When the season has played out we will
see that Toby has contributed more than
Chester did for us last year.........Everyone
said Chester was a better pass catcher than Adrian.
Why did Adrian only have one less catch than Chester, and at the same time, way more yards
per catch......... Hopefully we will see two back
sets in the red zone with Adrian and Toby. Let the
defences figure that one out.

Gerhart is a punishing runner and Peterson is a punishing runner, so what's wrong with having both in the backfield at the same time? It seems that last season Adrian was stopped at the line or behind the line in a number of critical short-yardage situations. In many of those cases, everyone in the stadium knew AD would be coming between the tackles and loaded up for him. If the defense had to guess which would get the ball, it seems they would have to hesitate a bit and give the runner an advantage. It also seems that play-action passes would be more effective from this alignment. Last season, Favre was only supposed to "manage" the game and hand off to Peterson half the time while throwing 20 times a game. That changed because the defenses stacked against Peterson and the offensive line did not appear as effective as in prior years. If the Vikings could develop a more consistent and dependable running game, it would save wear and tear on Favre, if he returns, and take an awful lot of pressure off Jackson or Rosenfels if he does not. It seems like having two strong running backs in the same backfield would help accomplish this. I'm not a coach by any stretch, but I do pay attention to the games and don't think I have exaggerated the Vikings' failures on third-and-short last season. Just wondering.

Completely agree on the play action with Peterson. That seems like a no-brainer. If the defense is loading up to stop the run give them the look and go over the top. With all the offensive weapons the Vikings have there shouldn't be any way a defense can stop them the whole game regardless who is playing QB.

I'd like to see some better blocking for the RB's. It might just be preseason but our RB's didn't have a lot to work with against the Rams. Once the running game gets going it makes life a lot easier for the QB. Toby looked pretty good.

OK, if Klink flops this year and Gerhart wants to, he should become player/head coach.

To the guy from worchester, Ma. Toby start at RB? Get rid of AP? What have you been smoking? Don't get me wrong. Toby looks to be a pretty productive running back. But AP is still easily one of the top 3 running backs in the NFL. Far more superior athletic ability and dominant than toby can ever be. He was brought here to be the number 2 running back and I think he'll make a fine number 2 running back, but come one now...replace AP? LOL. Yes I'm not stupid I know he has a fumbling problem. BUt I think thats something you can work on and get it fixed. The Pure talent that AP has though, you can't teach that, its god given. Mark my words all you AP haters. When its all said and done,...AP will go down as the best VIKINGS running back to ever play for the team and one of the most dominant to ever play in the NFL. Future hall of fame RB.

Hey how about reynaud at RB? I though he did pretty good for the limited handoffs he got. I like reynaud. I think the vikes should implement him into their offensive game plan somehow because he's a playmaker, kinda like a david palmer type player, remember David palmer #22?

I almost forgot about Palmer. I'd like to see somebody emerge as the next Roger Craig or Amp Lee. We need that element to keep the defenses spread out and concerned. So far I haven't seen anything that makes me think Chester's shoes have been filled. It is still early and I'm hoping Gerhart and Peterson can do it all. Time will tell.
