Couldn't agree with you more about Peterson and his trade value; the RB position has been devalued over the last few years because of a more passer-friendly modern game. People seem to think that the Vikings will be getting a Herschel magnitude haul but that was then and times have changed. The only team that will want to trade for Peterson is a upper-tier team that is ready to make a run now, and that means a later first and/or second round draft pick; not worth it since you will just create another draft need in replacing the guy; good luck finding another RB in the draft who will be as productive; successful teams do not trade away their best players while they still have productive years remaining, only at the tail-end.
In addition the vikings wr core is thin, theres no spread offense/ pass happy sets to be run...its sidney rice and percy harvin and thats if harvin doesnt miss a game due to a dibilitating migraine thats plagued him his whole life

Ponder will extend plays via mobility

He will be accurate in the WCO..

He is very CEREBRAL..

Travis THE NFL Defenses' schemes are predicated upon taking the opposition's LEADER OUT.

Ponder will be a target..........and his collegiate career say's he may have durability issues..........

GO VIKES!

Ponder got hurt tackling a defensive player who intercepted him. Sporting News lists Ponder as the toughest QB in this class. That said, I agree with your assessment, he will have to weather some tough hits. Let's just hope they are all legal.

lol..........really?

legal?

Actually good point..........rookie is gonna get hit..........and hard!

Maybe coach Frazier has the mentality(being a D guy, and a good one back in the day) to unleash the wrath the likes of ALLEN/WINNY/HENDERSON/GREENWAY /COOK/ROBISON(IF IN)AND send a message that Ponder will be protected..........legal or illegal hit!!!!

this is the year K-fan........for what I have no idea.....but it is a year, lol.

Go Vikes.

Exactly..........league is vertical now meaning pass friendly! Well put.....

Vikes are at a crossroad in regards to AP........ride this guy now with the scheme they implement and let Him run wild, he is the best offensive weapon they have right now.

Still need a WR to stretch the field though..........take pressure off Ponder.

Zigi Wilf wants me in the war room for all the draft selections.
Many of the players selected will be my Viking teammates when the season gets going.

Just one question Viking fans:

Frazier couldn't fix HIS DEFENSE last year.

Just how is he going to fix THIS team?

I haven't a clue. I heard Fraz was having the team take French lessons so they coulf leard to say "I SURRENDER" on a foreign tongue

Fix the defense FIRST. You have to stop offenses, especially one that have strong passing attacks.

At the same time, develop the offense around a good O-line and a young QB. It will take some time and a lot of patience.

Unfortunately, patience is one thing the Vikings and their fans don't have much of. I know they've waited 50 years but they DID have some golden opportunities and made some of the biggest snafus in NFL history.
