Edwards has not lived up to his own expectations, as he was going to get the sack record last year. Just shut up and play football, and your big contract will come, if you can play better than you can cry.

Is this Klink and his personality of a clogged toilet, crappy coaching and ability to alienate his players by being an *ss, or is Edwards still an under acheiving crybaby, or some of both. Seriously, I am interested in opinions.
Who is 'Klink'?

Boo hoo - poor Ray. With the Williams Wall and Allen on the D-line, Edwards faces single coverage constantly and should easily be a double-digit sack guy. He's an average DE and should be paid like one. I hope he has a career year, helps the Vikes win a Super Bowl and then gets his deal with some team that panics and overpays. I've always felt Robison was as good or better than Edwards anyway.
BAM, I HAVE BEEN SAYING THE SAME THING FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS. Robison is a tremendous pass rusher, has a great work ethic, comes a lot cheaper, and doesn't have delusions of granduer-on the same note I hope Edwards does have a monster year and helps the Vikes, that way he can go his way and Robison can take his spot, after all there is no way Vikes were gonna keep both anyway, both are starting defensive end material in this league.

I think the NFL should institute a new rule:

Players are not allowed to comment publicly on anything related to their contract status during the regular season.

Any players who does so will be fined a full game check for each infraction. Problem solved.

Ray Edwards can stick it in his a$$. Right next to all of those 23 sacks he promised last year that never materialized.

Same with Moss. Ignorant, obnoxious d-bag who takes the spotlight off his team's season opener win over the Bengals to go on a wild rant about feeling unloved and underpaid. Screw you, Moss.

Same with ANY other player who uses the media to b*tch and moan about how much money they think they deserve when the rest of us are watching football and rooting for our home team to win.

Screw all of these clowns.

edwards signed a one year deal, now play, dont complain. if you are good, they will resign you to a long year deal. quit lobbying now that the season has begun. if you didnt like your deal, you shouldnt have signed it. what a baby!

Hey Ray, your right, you're not on the top of the priority list because all the other players in need of an extension are pro-bowlers. You, my loud mouthed friend, are not. Go make the pro-bowl this year and then maybe the Vikes might bump you up the priority list a bit, until then, STFU and focus on the Dolphins.

Wow; tough crowd. In a sense, you're right, because Ray is being the Diva here, and we see too much of that in the NFL. On the other hand, DE pass-rushing talent - even just marginally effective DE pass-rushing talent - is rare in the NFL. Ray has rarely played to his abilities, but when he has done so, he's been highly effective, such as in the Dallas playoff game last year. I hope our team keeps Ray. I would hate to see his light go on after he's moved to another team. If he's going to have an awakening, I want it to be with our Minnesota Vikings. Sometimes the coaches must have faith, and sometimes the players must have faith. And sometimes, even the fans have to keep faith, and hail from other lands than Missouri. Skol Vikings.
