Full story: TwinCities.com

The Vikings are considering shutting down rookie cornerback Chris Cook for the remainder of the season, another tough break for the second-round draft pick who performed well during the preseason.

I don't you think you can accurately assess Cook yet, he played with a scoped knee and another bad one the whole season practically, plus going through the usual rookie growing pains in the league.

Vikes are gonna work out the CFL's leading reciever-Andy Fantuz-I read in the next week or two. Maybe he is in their future.

Its too bad about Cook,i had the same injury to one knee it took about 8 weeks to begin walking right much less running!Maybe he just rushed comming back.Whats up with HarvIn he is such a beast, but if he can't play thats not good either! Will the plague him his whole career if so he'll half a short one.

Shut him down for the year. There's no sense in bringing him back with the season already lost and risk further damage. Hopefully, he can improve a lot next year because what he did on the field this year is little to be excited about.

Actually, yes you can. And, Frazier has, fortunately.

Yep, so far just about all the scouts were right about the guy in there analysis. And his injury problems have continued to plague him, knees again.

If it looks like a bust, smells like a bust and sounds like a bust, it is probably a bust.. Chris Cook has looked very bad, he has no drive. I say cut him let someone else deal with his fragile timid self! Winfield is smaller and older but gets to the ball twice as fast and hits twice as hard.

Let me add something, if we do keep him he needs to move to safety, he is too slow for CB..

-Andy Fantuz has given my Stampeders fits
he is good, but remember in 2006 the Lions thought he wasn't NFL quality and he has repeadetly been passed on by multiple NFL teams since then.

Better than Baskett at the very least

Andy Fantuz would be a great addition and could translate to a major reciever

he is begging to join the NFL and if the Steelers don't nab him first would be a great addition to the vikings next year

Absolutely. Meniscus tears on both knees? They should have shut him down after the second one for a couple months. Now both knees could wind up being a problem for the rest of his career. Shut. Cook. Down.

I understand that he might have been hurt but being hurt slows you down it does not take away your killer instinct, Cook does not have that. He tackles like a 4th grade girl, Winfield is much smaller than him and knocks guys fillings loose when he hits them, he has killer instinct and plays hard. Cook does not have that intensity an never will. YOU CANNOT COACH THAT!!!
Cut him now and save us from the disappointment! In a couple years from now I will pull this post out and say " told you so"
