Perhaps I should clarify my remark. I don't mean to sound like I'm slamming the Black Eyed Peas or Fergie. I like some of their music. "Where's The Love" is a good song with a positive message. I haven't had the priviledge of hearing all their songs or seeing sll their music videos. There probaly were other singers and musicians that were more worthy to do the Halftime show. Probaly even from the 1950s,'60s,'70s, and '80s that were extremely talented and popular and waiting to be called on to do the Halftime show. Did Michael Jackson ever perform at Halftime? His sister Janet did. Remember the infamous wardrobe malfunction?
Regarding the Black Eyed Peas, and halftime:

They sucked.

I posted that this idea would've been good for the Halftime of the AFC Championship game (N.Y. Jets @ Pittsburgh Steelers).

Now I'd like to say that it would've been good for the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Picture it. N.Y. Jets Coach Rex Ryan grabs a microphone and provides some Karaoke entertainment by singing the song "Footloose".

I know MJ performed at one point, but I don't remember when. I know he was on stage and 5 seconds later "magically" transported to the upper section of the stadium. I don't remember much else about the performance though, lol

Personally I thought it was cool that Ella Fitzgerald performed "way back when" in a tribute to Louis Armstrong. Cool stuff.

Nobody wants to see Ryan sing OR dance.

The shows keep getting suckier. I think maybe frisbee dogs would be more fun.

I clicked on that link recommended by "troll" and was amazed to learn that there really hasn't been that many big name singers or groups doing the Halftime Show. Sometimes a marching band and that was about yet. But in some cases the marching bands were probaly a lot better than the big namers. Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson were probaly the Top 10 best in Halftime entertainment.

Frisbee dogs sounds fun to watch.

Here's an idea. You know the Pro Bowl is a representation of what is supposed to be the best NFL players of the season grouped togeter on the two teams. Why not turn the Halftime Show into the Cheer Bowl for cheerleaders. Group the best ones of the NFL teams together in a big cheer fest. Sis Boom Bah!!!!! And throw in the frisbee dogs and that's entertainment.

Here's an idea.

They could pack all those commercials into the halftime break.
