Hey Edwards--going face-to-face with your Defensive coordinator has to be done carefully or it's a potential career-limiting-maneuver.

I don't know a thing about what is really going on, but it does seem that:

a.) Something is up about Gerhart's toughness or lack thereof. It may be personal, it may be racial, it may be something in his character. But there's enough smoke to think that there's fire somewhere.

b.) Edwards has certainly been acting the jerk a lot lately. Is this just a man growing into himself and suddenly making some hard claims for his legitimacy, or is he simply a di-khead?

Maybe after one decent season, Edwards thinks he's the man. Maybe its a veteran vs rookie thing. Maybe its just the heat. Maybe its called football where emotions run high. Maybe it is actually nothing and the writers aren't creative enough to write about something worthwile. Yeah, that's it~!

Go Vikings~

It's just football! Fights flair up all the time. I wouldn't read to much into it. It's hot, it's physical and tempers tend to flair. LOL at someone trying to find a deeper meaning to it.

Careful, Ray. It's one thing when the players scrap; they do that all the time because of the pounding in the summer heat. It's another thing when a player acts up with a coach. Not career enhancing. Gerhart must be bringing it in practice and Edwards isn't backing down. Good, good. Save some for the Packers, guys. Skol Vikings.

Geeze people. These things happen at every training camp. Kind of proves they have nothing to write about because camp went pretty well. Edwards will be a Bull this season. Keep the fire up there Ray! Love that S##t!

Shouldn't u be asking Toby if he holds any hard feelings, he is the one that was shoved to the ground! That's kind of like asking a bank robber if he still holds a grudge on the bank teller he held up!

SO how did this headline become about Jared Allen? Is it because no one would care it if were about the other no names involved?

The Eye says, "Edwards should pick his spots more strategically. Looks like a real tough guy going after a rookie back in training camp. Where in Hades was he last year against Carolina and Chicago late in the year? He and his fellow defensive mates should have been wearing bras and skirts they way they tackled, I mean missed tackles in December. Those two games cost the Vikings playing a home NFC Championship game. He's a one season wonder that will disappear this year.

Hey Vikings fans-- I've been following Gerhart's career ever since his sopohomore year at Stanford because he looked like a guy with big potential. I've been reading the Minnesota press about what's been happening with Gerhart and a lot of the defense's shots against him seemed out of line. Yeah, he's a rookie and welcome to the NFL, let's make him tough. And maybe the veterans didn't appreciate that he was the last rookie to sign. But those feelings should have disappeared after 3-5 days of camp. So what is up with the constant big hits in practice?

For those of you who don't know the man, Gerhart is actually very quiet. He was the least vocal of the 3 team captains last year. When Stanford had a rally for him after finishing 2nd in the Heisman voting, he didn't even speak for himself. I know someone that lived down the hall in his dorm-- the guy was not out partying every night, he actually studied! Definitely not a beat your chest, in your face kinda guy.

I know a lot of people think Stanford guys are elitists. But most of the football players are from regular working families. Gerhart's dad is a PE teacher and coach of the HS football team, his mom is a special ed teacher. There's nothing about Gerhart himself or his background that even remotely suggests he's not a likeable guy.

One thing about his running style, though. He just smashes into people. He's very physical, and when you've got a 235 lb guy coming at you with good speed (4.53 in the 40 yd dash), that will hurt. Maybe Edwards took too many hits from Gerhart. I can't see Gerhart being the instigator in any of this, it's just not his character.

Seems that guys are picking on Toby this year period. What's up with that? I haven't heard about this happening in previous years where a RB is getting pounded daily. Maybe I just missed it.

I'm glad Toby stood up for himself. We haven't heard much about him all camp except that he seemed to be targeted by the defense. There are times when a rookie has to prove to the vet they belong and they're not some pushover.

Edwards on the otherhand....a second level talent jawing at Fraiser? Yeah, he'll be gone next year.

Attitude and Brains and Brett Favre will make the Vikings a huge success this year. It seems they are going the other way from that formula. Ray Edwards is way over-rated and has had about two good games in his whole career. Remember him shooting off his mouth about how he was going to set a record for sacks? Now he wants more money? See ya Ray. See how many players are not at camp? Primadonnas will get their arses handed to them unless they grow up, teams are waiting for them and they better be ready. I for one, don't think they are. Things had better change, or mutiny will occur.

Would have loved to see that enthusiasm from the DLine toward Drew Brees, Bush and Thomas.. Toby will only be better off for taking their garbage, which it is, in the long run. I assure you Adrian wasn't given anywhere near the business Toby is getting. The more I hear from Pat and Ray, the less I respect them.. Toby is your teammate and God forbid if Adrian goes down he will be next or just behind Albert..
