Yup. I'm wondering why the coaches didn't leave Jackson in... was it so he couldn't have a chance to screw up, and damage his psyche?

dumb, if you dont have rice, harvin and shank this is a different offence just like the one jackson had in 2008. Rice was useless with his nagging injury, shank couldnt run a route or catch a ball in the beginning of the season and percy was in florida. These three players helped farve big time and right now all three are not playing. The team had better options for farve last year, put all three in healthy and watch jackson or sage have great years.

that's right, i just cannot type. maybe i need medical hemp. anyway, i am really worried about number 12. this team needs him more than it needs old number 4, britttfar.

isn't that something ,that sage rosenfels isn't even mentioned, and he had a spectacular game against the rams producing 3 times more yards passing than jacksons average. why does it seem that the vikings are so willing to make jackson the starter ,when rosenfels is by far the better QB. jackson sucks, and that is why the coach pulled him to avoid showing everyone he is wrong about who to start if favre doesn't show.rosenfels is the better QB by far.PERIOD

I completely disagree with where they headed with this article. They are not even giving this team a chance to jell without Favre whether he comes back or not and it appears he will.

It would appear to me Favre is very happy to see Rosenfels perform this way and get to know the knew guys in action all this can only help them in the long run especially if Favre has injuries and needs to be taken out or rested.

When Jackson has his big preseason game all the better and I bet Favre will want to be there even more ? Look how much depth they will have for the long haul, remember it is 16 games with playoffs, reserves and backups are there for a reason and excellent ones are just as much a part of the team as the starters.

Thx Kevin

Watching Sage last night, he definitely left some plays out there. Same with Webb, but I like what I saw from Webb. He's elusive, fast, and looks to have a live arm. He will be a project, but don't count on him making the practice squad. Risking his signing by another team, he'll have to stay with the 53 man roster.

The reality of the preseason: Game 1...Starters play one series. Game 2...Starters play one quarter. Game 3...Starters play into the second half (up to three quarters). Game 4...Starters do not play.

If Favre isn't back by preseason game 3, then we'll see how Jackson performs.

If Favre is back, and the bet is that he will be, Tavaris will be backup, Sage will be traded, and Webb will be 3rd string.

By playing Sage more in the first two preseason games, he'll bring more in trade value.

Spot on Zeke, that's exactly how I see it.

if favre doesn't show, i hope jackson does start every game just to prove once and for all just how sorry he really is. of course in the end when vikes miss playoffs because of jacksons inability , those jackson lovers will still say ,"oh he didn't have protection", or "the receivers weren't running their routes correctly", or "jackson just needs more expieience".WAKE UP PEOPLE. vikes are a 6-10 team at best with jackson. How many years do the fans have to suffer because of a poor choice at critical position of QB for vikings. 2009 was such a magical year. Can't the owners see clearly what is gonna happen with jackson.

Its funny because that’s exactly what “they” were saying about TJack last preseason. Lets play him to increase “trade value”, but nobody wanted him because he’s not that good. That’s why they brought Sage in to begin with, to faze-out the TJack years. Its unfortunate the Chilly has given TJack way more opportunities. Sage looked great last preseason and now this preseason. Also, Sage is more like Farve at QB (throwing not running), and look how far we got last year.
If Farve goes down then what? I’d want Sage!

If we have to go with "T-Jack " this year , get ready for a lot of 2 yard passes on third and six.
Even in his four throws Saturday night , Jackson
looked like Shirley Temple tap dancing. He gets too nervous and is quick to go to the dump-off, instead of standing in the pocket.

Sansever, you are a cynic. Everyone wants Favre back, but if not, a more mature and practiced Jackson will do just fine.

I talked to Farves cousin today and he said Farve is coming back the ankle is doing alot better, I like the idea of Webb being a project for the future then I got to thinking about these athletic QBs in the league compared to the true pocket QB, and I ask has any of them won anything? Vick,McNabb,Vince Young,Randall Cunnigham, Steve young could scramble well and won but was more of a drop back QB....

The coaches see 'Buckwheat' improved? At what? Does he know the difference between 'forward & backward'? I don't think so. He still wears his cap showing forward as being backward!'Buckwkeat' does NOT have 5 years experience!'Buckwheat' HAS ONE YEAR OF EXPERIENCE 5 TIMES OVER!!! THAT is not improvement! He still can't count past ONE! Trade the dude to GB while they are still dumb!
