All you morons who were booing Grossman tonight are pathetic and don't really understand the big picture of what makes a successful football team. You all make Grossman the scapegoat for why we lost the super bowl. Well I got news for ya, Dominic Rhodes and the Colts running attack getting 240 some rushing yards is what beat us. Before Grossman threw those 2 Int's we were already down by 13 with only a little over a quarter left in the game. He had to start trying to make plays and he really had nobody that could make any plays on that team.
Now lets fastforward a year to 07. Again he does not have a legitimate #1 receiver, no running attack, and a pathetic offensive line who could not run block or pass block. You are not going to find a QB who could be successful on a CONSISTENT basis with that to work with.
Now lets fast forward another year to the present. We have even worse receivers (rashied davis is our camp standout for pete's sake). We still don't have a bonified running game (our season depends on how Forte and Jones handle the load). And our line is still not much better than last year, and it won't be until Williams practices on a consistent basis and proves he can be a solid LT.
How can you all put the majority of the blame on one freaking guy when every QB the bears trotted out last year didn't perform.(I don't care if Orton went 2-1, he looked terrible against the Vikes and the Packer game didn't prove anything.) That just proves that there is no talent around the Bears QB whoever it was. Look at Manning, Brady, Rivers, Palmer, Brees, all of those guys have atleast two weapons around them and in some cases 3 or 4. No Bears QB will be good until Angelo stops wasting 9/10 of our money on the defense and gets us a bonified playmaker on offense (our best playmaker knows like 5 plays, Hester). There is no reason why we shouldn't be making a run at Terry Glenn right now.

Bottom line: Rex has unfairly gotten blamed for too many of the Bears failures. You all should be booing the entire offense or Jerry Angelo for never getting us anyone with higher than high school talent to surround our QB's.

well said,Adam.

I guess the home croud booing is supposed to help him and the team get better? I don't care ether way wich one of them starts. just as long as it is the one who gives us the best chance to win. Booing one of them seems pretty foolish to me.

GO BEARS!!!

I was at that Packer game last year....YES Orton did impress me. I'm amazed anyone could do anything in that game other than run.
To be fair, maybe it played to Orton's Strength's: Ball controlled football.
Favre certainly wasn't able to air it out. He had 9 yrds passing in the 1st half.
And Orton looked really good in the Saints game.
I'd rather the bears go with Orton.
His Rookie Season was 2 years ago and I'd like to see if he can improve.
I already know what I am getting with Grossman......fumbles, Ints, and Tds to keep the game close.

Agree with Brett, time to make Orton the man and see what happens. This April draft our future QB if he's not it. The booing is really stupid, though.

adam,Very well said! I agree that so-called fans booing Rex is pathetic & stupid. They should just stay at home, they are not helping.Fans help by supporting the players, not heckling or booing them. All these idiots do is hurt the player & make him play worse. So idiots like that hurt the team, they dont help us.I have been a die hard fan for 37 years.I never boo my team,EVER! I support them whoever is playing.Cheering a player makes him better & more confident.Booing a player makes them struggle & feel insecure. These so-called fans dont deserve to go to a game. The hard to get tickets should go to true fans, who actually want to help their team by cheering them on!! I feel bad for Rex.He hasnt done anything to deserve the horrible treatment he is getting. That obviously hurts his development & confidence. How would you feel if you were trying to get better at something,& everyone around you booed you & called you a failure on every attempt you made to get better.Be a true fan & support your team to make them better. If you dont like it then find another team & go away.True Bear fans dont like you fair weather fans hurting our teams development with your negative crap & booing & complaining all the time.Just go away if you dont like it."Yeah" boo your own Q.B so he ends up losing the game! that makes a lot of sense you idiots! I want to win,so cheering them on makes more sense & gives them more confidence. Some people are just brain dead & stupid!! These losers boo their own Q.B so he fails on the field.Talk about stupidity & screwing your own team,WOW! These new age kids have no idea what being a fan is all about! Obviously they are not Bear fans,if they back stab their own players!I dont like to lose,or have a player struggle either. But i try to cheer them through the struggles. Not boo them so it gets worse, that is stupid! We are all human beings, heckling & putting someone down is going to hurt that persons confidence.Which will lead to failure. It amazes me.These same idiots are calling for Favre, the all time interception leader!! But they boo Rex,who throws a pick now & then.Go figure. GOD BLESS! GO BEARS!! GOOD LUCK IN 2008!! YOUR TRUE FANS WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT YOU!!!

You make some good points, but Grossman needs to stop playing so geeked. He needs to relax and let the game come to him.Cant throw the ball before you get the snap from center. He also needs to make better decisions with the ball.If he can play smarter he will be a solid NFL quarterback.Interesting note:look at Grossmans numbers for his first 30 starts, almost identical stats to a certain player who wears the #4.

True Bears fans do NOT boo their team! Bears fan here since birth and through good and bad,..I cheer my black and blue brothers on! If you wanna' boo someone, email Ted Phillips or Jerry Angelo and boo them! They seem to sabotage our efforts and use players as scapegoats to deflect incompetency from themselves! GO BEARS! And go away Ron Turner, Jerry Angelo and Ted Phillips!
