Its a shame the few or quite a few people live up to stereotypes. Time to look at the mentality of the culture and address the destructive, mindless behavior head on by reducing the glorification of these idiots.

What are you talking about. Haiti has been independent for over 200 years and has created an island paradise.

I'd like to read a follow up story, about how much shoplifting was done,and bills left unpaid at the stores and restaurants.The urban revelers don't spend,just steal.

Yeah, if we had a Caucasian Beach Weekend, the NAACP, Al Sharpton, the ACLU and Rep Meeks would be shoulder to shoulder protesting the event.

At least the cops wouldn't have to arrest a couple hundred people for "riding dirty."

Now that whites are the minority in Miami-Dade, where is the affirmative action protecting our employement and social services rights?

When I was young I us'd to wait
On the boss and hand him his plate;
and Pass down the bottle when he got dry,
And brush away the blue tail fly.
refrain (repeated each verse):
Jim crack corn and I don't care,
Jim crack corn and I don't care,
Jim crack corn and I don't care,
My masters gone away.

An' when he ride in de arternoon,
I foiler wid a hickory broom;
De poney being berry shy,
When bitten by de blue tail fly.
One day he rode aroun' de farm,
De flies so numerous dey did swarm;
One chance to bite 'im on the thigh,
De debble take dat blu tail fly.

De poney run, he jump an' pitch,
An' tumble massa in de ditch;
He died, an' de jury wonder'd why
De verdic was de blue tail fly.

They buried him neath the sycamore tree
His epitaph there for to see
"Beneath this stone I'm forced to lie
The victim of a blue-tailed Fly."

Well at least I left town like all the sane people. I also got word from some of the bouncers and believe it or not, bottles were not paid for, purses were stolen, fights and violence the norm. Oh well..at least it's not as bad as a hurricane. Wait..I take that back. It's worse than a hurricane.

What I don't understand is why during the other numerous festivities (calle 8, winter music conference, ultra, fashion shows etc) we don't see the violence associated with those other festivals. Calle 8 brings close to a million people and only 49 arrests. Urban beach week has only 250,000 people and hundreds of arrests. Do the math!
