Tice didn't trade Moss. Texas Red did, to save himself straight cash--to the tune of $7mil--on his way out the door. This wasn't a football decision by Tice, it was a cash decision by the owner.

Sansevere, I didn't realize until just now what an idiot you are.
Waiving Randy Moss was the right thing to do?

Tell me, who now will draw double coverage EVERY time he's on the field?

Stupid move by a stupid "Coach"
and a stupid observation on your part.

Mr. Wilf, please do the right thing and fire Childress and let Randy inform the team of the change.

I'm no big Moss fan, but to just waste a 3rd round pick like this, on top of the moronic challenge Klink had Sunday, the 12-man penalty the week before, the 12-man penalty in the NFC Championship last year...this head coach is a bumbling idiot. I could probably deal with that if he wasn't such a pompous jerk at the same time. Where's Bill Cowher when we need him?

Bob,

This is one of the greatest written articles! Nicely written if I do say so myself! Great Job! I feel this explained to me what I needed and wanted to hear so badly. You, my friend, have a great way of explaining things. NOT like Tom Powers. He hasn't really proved himself to me. I think you guys tend to disagree, if I can predict.

Thanks!
God Bless!

It was tice, it was the off season when he was traded and no roster bonuses yet, he sold the team before training camp and made no profit. Tice made a choice between Culpepper and Moss he choose culpepper. But as far as Sansevere being right on this, what a tool! He was charmed into this idiot coach. this team lacks leaders and motivators. He has been praised by teammates wherever he goes, and the vikes the past three weeks!!! Yeah he threw the coach in front of the bus and if Ziggy had a brain he'd step on the gas!! sansastupid is just upset because he can't get an interview, probably asking stupid questiions each week reliving the past, are you going to run over a traffic cop again? get over it already!!! i mean look at the fire Chilly poll...

Now all you have to do is show me the next "wart" that will draw double coverage on every play, allowing the rest of the offense to operate. You think Rice will come back and stretch defenses, just off hip surgery? You think Baskett will do it? How about unannounced retiree Bernard Berrian?

Foolish humans, Moss was your only chance. Now you will be a losing team. Worse yet, you will have a boring team that loses.

Happy winter!

Harvin in single coverage, moss still triple teamed, last three weeks praised for motivation, yet vikes can't put him in motion to free him off the line, 3 pass patterns only, and he and everyone else who has a brain can see chilly is an incompitent coach!

What a waste of a 3rd round draft that could have been used to trade up & get one of top QBs that is going to be in this next draft GO VIKINGS

What if Brett Favre said what Randy said? He isn't playing great either, is he packing it in? Funny to see a couple shortsighted "fans" out here who must be waiting for basketball season to kick into full gear. Randy Moss gets treated off the field almost like he does on it, he gets under peoples skin he plays his game and YOU have to adjust. Some just can't stand the man's stature and it's ridiculous, all he does is play football and talk passionately about it. Childress is the problem and we hope the Wilf's release him like he did Randy Moss. iit will be money well spent (paying Childress to go home)in contrast to the lost opportunities and wasted draft pick on Moss and the effort to retain him. Can we get an 8th round pick for Childress? How about a couple ball boys or a bag of new footballs?

Great column Bob. Randy needs to wake up Tuesday morning and realize a 6-1 team on their way to the playoffs, that he supposedly has ALL THIS LOVE FOR, didn't want him. Randy ask yourself this question. A bad 2-5 team and a 6-1 team already DUMPED you. You, and all of us, know you have great talent. Despite that, the Vikings and Patriots don't want you. We HATE your stupidity, arrogance, and narcissism. If you want to see an admired athlete, look at Jerry Rice. Went over the middle, sacrificed for the team, and ALWAYS SHOWED CLASS. A word you don't even know exists.

A team traded you a little over a month ago, and all you can talk about is how much you love them. Are you really this dumb?? If you love them so much, what did you do to get traded?? Why would a world class organization, that you love, dump somebody so talented, for an unknown and unproven 3rd round pick next year?? Did you not show your love for the Patriots by taking plays off, not throwing blocks, and whining about your contract?? Yes you did. Good riddance Randy. I'd rather lose without you than win with you.

Now Chilly needs to go as well. More for Tarvaris than anything else. What jokers these 2 are. Did you watch Chillys presser on the web site?? He begins by talking about how solid the special teams play was. WTF is that. Avoiding the real issues on this team. God, I feel sorry for Adrian Peterson. In the prime of his career he is stuck with this idiot coach. All this talent and big contracts and we are no better than Detroit. WOW, maybe California won't be so bad when we don't give Zyggi his new stadium.

OH yeah, Instead of waiving Moss, couldn't we have traded him?? Maybe I'm missing something but did Chilly do this just to stick it to Moss?? I would think we could have at least gotten that 3rd rounder back, rather than waiving him. STUPID STUPID STUPID. Maybe missing something here where Moss couldn't be traded again, or would he have had to approve the trade first, but now we get nothing?? Time to write this team off. I need to find a good Sunday hobby for the next 6 months.

Remember, you once said that Tony Dungy was good only for an assistant coach not a head coach when the vikings were looking to replace Denny Green whom you have a deep-seeded hatry for.It doesn't come as a surprise to me that you will support a head coach who will waive a future all of fame without consulting management, waisting a third round pick for 3 games, perhaps costing the Vikings $3.88 millions, with no real accomplishments(he was saved last year by Brett Favre whom he (Childress)threw under the bus last week) during his tenure as head coach of the vikes.

I generally agree with the article, but it sounded a little too self-righteous to me; so I checked under related articles at the end of Sansevere's masterpeice and guess what...? The day Moss was traded he wrote an article entitled "Vikings' trade for Moss biggest in team history - and puts Minnesota back on Super Bowl track." Compare this article with his quotes,
.
.
"The Vikings weren't the only ones suckered in. A lot of fans and media members believed Moss would kick-start the Vikings and help salvage the season. Like a bunch of rubes listening to a slick huckster peddle his miracle elixir, they fell for it when, upon his return, Moss yapped about how excited he was to be coming home to Minnesota and feeling the love."

Most so-called sports journalist are whores. You'll learn more from Erie-Vike and TMD than you will from him. That's why I read this site.

Even if the VIKES let Childress go at the end of this year If I was them I would not pick Frazier as the head coach four other teams passed on him as there head coach There must be a reason. The Vikes defense wasnt even put in by him all he does is coach it. Was never his defensive scheme The time Frazier has been with the VIKES there CBs & Safetys Never has been any good Did Frazier asked to get anyone that could cover All he ever did was Coach Never gave input to the Front office, You know they would have got someone they proved there willing to spend the money. What offense would Frazier put in if he was head coach? would he put in a New defense? I dont think he has a plan for a offense or defense if he was made head coach . If the Vikes let Childress go at the end of the Year or sooner They should ask Jon Gruden to be the head Coach. GO VIKINGS

Moss was a "player", dawg, and an idiot. The Pats must be laughing their asses off. Desperation got the bum here. Go figure. Oh well, what's done is done. Favre won't last through the month for sure. Another bust.

Now about Sydney Rice not getting that surgery in the off season....yeah he won't be back this year. That you can count on too.

Time to become a running team.

How do you figure that you fat daego? I guess Bernard (I can only run straight fast) Berrian will deserve that safety over the top. Favre wanted Moss when he was at GB do you think when he heard the Pats were shopping him he told Chilly do get him and after Moss embarrassed Col. Klink, the stubborn h.s. coach cut him loose? Moss was used to a competent coach who knew how to utilized talent, not this simpleton. I guess by your show of support of the reigning coach he will still let you squeeze into the locker room.
