If David Carr is a free agent, the Jets ought to give him a shot. He was a number one overall draft pick, and got most of his playing time with a horrible Houston team. Vinnie Testaverde and Steve Young are examples of talented quarterbacks who played with lousy teams and were lousy, but then got better when they joined a better team.

And it will help with my football pool. I won last year's and picked against the Panthers every time Carr started, and won. Since I always pick against the Jets and usually win, my chances would skyrocket.

I wonder if Jerry Reese will consider giving Eli a contract extention now rather than wait untill next year.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Virgo

You're struggling to get everything finished in time today, making you feel fractious and tired. At some point you may have to take a pragmatic decision about which tasks must be completed today and which will have to be postponed until another day. Do your best to keep things in proportion otherwise you'll waste time in trivial details and needless nit-picking.
