Ed,
I hope you do know where you are and why you are here. You sound like you were the atypical spoiled college athlete who believed he could do what he wanted and get away with it.
The Colts, and Coach Dungy especially, want a hard working athlete and a clean working athlete. Please don't disappoint everyone.
I, for just one, will be watching you at the Colts furnace, aka training camp, and at the home exhibition opener next week. Hey, make us proud. My main Colts jersey is Freeney. I would love to have another defensive player's jersey with number 62 on it come playoff season.
We need you, Ed. Don't disappoint us and yourself.

I agree with Jim that it is important for Ed to learn from and leave behind the behavior that got him in trouble while in college. He got off to a good start in the game against the Cowboys and I hope it leads to a stout defensive front like the one that showed up for the play-offs last year.

Ed -

Please don't visit Club Rio like steve jackson did - and get home early. The city is depending on you staying OUT of trouble and OUT of the strip clubs. The colts won't stand for that kind of stuff and neither will Peyton Manning. If you do, you won't be here for long!

You are lucky to be playing for coach dungy. Learn from him. He will teach you how to be a good football player and a great man.

It's nice to read that this guy is apparantly going in the right direction--let's hope he doesn't fall off the wagon.
I will say though that he sound pretty flipant with the cliches like "it's all part of maturing." No, Ed, confining a girl against her will is not part of maturing--it's criminal. Part of maturing is something like learning that studying is sometimes the better choice than partying or learning not to procrastinate. Criminal confinement, fighting, and suspensions are way beyond what can simply be described as "maturing".
You've got talent and now a second chance; best of luck with everything but let's show a little accountability.

Ed-

You are at a very important point in your football career. Make the correct choices, make this team, and you could be in for a terrific professional career ... rewarding both in the football aspect and to a point of self achievement in being involved with such an organization and people like Tony Dungy and Bill Polion.

Good Luck - hope we see you still here AND playing in the post season with the Colts!

This may be your only chance, take it. Or you may wind up as another down on his luck in jail junkie talking about what could have been. You are very lucky to get a chance with this team (err Super bowl Champs) and the classiest team in football.
Good Luck and make us proud.

My post is first to these choir boys I mean Colts fan that posted earlier. Some of you guys act like you haven't done anything in your past that wasn't questionable. I am a Colts fan but I also want to Keep It Real. I have been young once. And the some of the decisions I made was not some good ones. Maybe not to the degree of some people I know.
But I refuse to get on a high horse and act like I have been this way all my life. PEOPLE CAN CHANGE and I also know that a fool never will.
From what I can tell this young man is sorry for what he did in his past.
So Colts fan lets get off our Holy-er than thou pestel and give this young man a chance. Tony and Bill did, so why can't we.
And to be truthful Ed out-played SAINT Pittsock(Glad graduate from Ohio State) by a landside. Also while I am here after seeing the first game I am not worried at all about Freddy Keiaho replacing Cato June. Dude was all over the field and this was happening with D. Freeney playing at half speed and Bob Sanders on the sidelines. Can you image whats going to happen when the Colts D is playing at full speed.
T. Hagler don't mess around and get cut. You can not afford to play at half speed. Lastly, Hall and Gonalez is going to be something special this year. Look for a repeat.

Pitcock and Johnson......hmmmmmmmm
A couple of promising 300 pounders.....hmmmmmmmm
But I would warn Bethea to ease up on those shoulder tackles. He was beating himself up. That's the reason why Sanders and Doss always have shoulder problems. You can still hit hard without making your shoulders the battering ram. Play smart and make more front-on contact instead of leading with a shoulder.

Where is said that none of us "choir boys" never make a mistake? I just posted how I felt and was giving him the FACTS! So you are the one that needs to get off his high horse and quit acting like you are better that any one of us.

I agree with Joe, we all deserve second chances. But if you read the article correctly, he WAS given several chances. I will not plead for you to "behave" as others have. This is something you have to want for yourself. What I will tell you, if you lose out on this opportunity, it will not be a shame that you missed out playing with "The Colts," as great as that would be, but that you blew an incredible chance to be cared about as a person and to be mentored by a man of integrity and a godly man like Tony Dungy and his staff. Good luck and God be with you. I personally will say a prayer for you to keep on the right path.

What caught my eyes in the first game was Charleston at DE and Hayden. I think Charleston #60 did an outstanding job and he can hit. The pentaly that was called on him was a bad call. I watched it several times in slow motion and it was just a very hard hit. The ref said he hit head first but he did not. Hayden also hit very hard and his coverage was very good. I saw a bunch of new people out there and they are going to make this team good, better, best, count on it

Kinda hard to cheer for a guy that basically raped and kidnapped someone. I hope that was all a big understanding and you never put yourself in a position like that again Ed.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Leo

The atmosphere is highly combustible today, with people getting in a stew over the smallest little thing. You will also have a tendency to get hot under the collar, especially if someone isn't doing things as quickly as you'd like. Try to stop yourself getting in a rage because once that happens it will be difficult to cool down again. Maybe you need some fresh air?
