Why I ask, do they keep this knucklehead on the payroll? My dog could have written this column! He rehashes the hash that other, more talented writers write.

"I think: This is the season Greenway will make the leap and be recognized as one of the top outside linebackers in the game. And with the return of middle linebacker E.J. Henderson, the Vikings have one of the NFL's best front sevens. They'll confirm that in the weeks ahead."

It's probably easy and trendy to make such a prediction after one stellar game. I hope he's right, but why couldn't he have made such a statement *before* the regular season began?

another idiotic A>S>S kissing homer local sportswriter .... Greenway is not close to one of the top linebackers in the game .... because he has had one good game out of two .... and both games were against the two worst teams in the NFL ....WOW .... same as that front seven being so good and that they'll show it in the weeks to come .... why didn't they just show it against the two worst teams in football .... this Viking team isn't what it's hyped to be .... struggling against these two horrible teams .... if it's all because of the FOOL of a head coach , i don't know .... they can be very thankful of the schedule they have

greenway did not have a great game. two poor throws by a rookie do not make the play where he got thrown off the dude's back he jumped on or when Smith was popping off his side for 10-13 yard gains. greenway got caught in the wash a few of times. Needs to get off blocks.

Not to mention that it was the Lions. A team that has now lost 18 straight.

Go ahead, hammer another beer.
Is your palette of derogatory words deep enough to handle the job if the Vikings were 0-2?

Greenway was coming on late last season and has picked up where he left off. We are better off with Chad that if we had AJ Hawk. Henderson and Greenway are two very solid linebackers (maybe not the top one or two) but they are two snot knockers!

Go back and reread my post, I said nothing about the greatness of this team. What I pointed out was the obsessive use of derogatory words directed at the Vikings by you hammer. Kind of like a pucker fan, you know? You eating cheese tonight?

read post from purple faithful .... sums it up pretty good .... henderson and greenway are probably above avg linebackers but not more....they are helped out by the two big lugs in the middle taking on a couple blockers each.... not close to top one or two as you state....you drink purple kool aid in iowa i see ..... keep guzzling but it doesn't help

Greenway made NFL defensive player of the week which usually happens when you are considered the best defensive player that WEEK.
His numbers weren't great besides all the takeaways, but takeaways count more than a tackle in my book.
He earned the accolade, regardless of what dark cloud says.
Here's to a great season by Chad, and a hearty one finger salute to his detractors.

WOW- for a team that su(ks, you sure pay a lot of attention to them. If they are that bad... THEN-DON'T-WATCH! Struggled? You mean by winning both games by double digits? I don't want to hear about halftime scores. Do they keep track of that as a record? Didn't think so. Should they have been leading by halftime...yup but it's the final that matters.

Agreed! It wasn't the Vikes who gave him this honor. It was the NFL.
